I CANNOT FIND DIAMOND IN MINE CRAFT! WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!

I usually find diamond near lava.
How far down do I need to go? I can't find Iron or Gold either....
Try digging down like 30-40 blocks from ground level then branch out (just make a giant mine shaft with a ladder going up)
I have reached the Redstone level. Is that before or after diamond?
I found my diamond near redstone so I think you're deep enough.
There are ~128 total levels. The last 4 at the bottom are bedrock/adminium. Once you determine the 4th layer, dig branch mines out, then go up 2 layers, repeat. Do this till the 17th layer.
Diamond is found on layers 16 and lower. Dig a staircase down until you hit 5th bedrock layer, then signpost every layer upwards until 16. did through layer 15 and strip mine long tunnels etc. etc.
