lord, if you are using it as your main weapon, it is horribly slow, does NOT make you look cool slaying (we lol at people that have GS's), and is costly. Buy a whip and 25M worth of slayer supplies ;)
I just bought a BGS last week and it's awesome for slayer tasks. Of course it's much better if you use a super set (minus defence if you have guthan's or enhanced excalibur).
I agree that a SGS is the best for slayer, but if you can't afford one then a BGS is just fine. I think the "BGS vs. Whip" all comes down to preference.
