I think an update on the friends list is a magic based quest with a new spellbook, so a quest where you go back in time and learn how magic was formed.

my idea from tims post was some bezerker kind of magic for the first spells ever... in some of the games ive played original magics are the pure power and unrestrained :D

new spell book seems probable. possibilities of a new rune used as well, much like when lunar spellbook was added.

then again it could just be FTp3 and cover all of the above slightly
