Nub with acer, throw it out the windows and go buy a good laptop.

Wrong, there is nothing wrong with acer.
I have heard of a few battery malfunctions on laptops recently. Not to mention that most problems like that

I keep thinking it's over-heated or something, but I dunno. Does anyone know how long a laptop usually lasts until it's time to get a new one?

it depends if you spill water on it 1 day probably 3 years maybe?
