funny thing is, i cannot report the mod mark one. when i was checking the name i could only report the rs one. this is very weird.

i was filling it out, but then it started asking for bank account info. that was weird.

He's abusing the fact that text now wraps when it's long. The text is all from RS Servera15, he typed "From Mod Mark...".

I knew about being able to trick people with this a day after the update, but I didn't phish. I messed with friends pretending to be NightmareRH or ChrisArchie and say they won 500m.

Well I think it's a pretty obvious fake and hack attempt since

-J-Mod have gold crown next to their names
-They PM you via your ingame mailbox, not via private message
-They'll never ask you to visit an other site.

I find it sad that after so many years (I think 3+ years since I've quit), there's still people trying to hack. I guess that's because runescape is increasing in popularity, so more newbies start playing, thus making tons of easy and naive persons to scam/hack. I guess there always will have ***** in that game, no matter.

Wouldn't the "two" messages come at the same time then? If they come simultaneously, then it'd be pretty obvious...

The message all coming at the same time is the least obvious part of this. Why would the RS Server (a15!!) have to tell you that a JMod is going to pm you in the first place? Then why would the JMod not be properly marked as such (crown). Why would he link to an outside site to "apply"? Why would he link to a site at all rather than directing you to your account settings on the main page? And if he was going to link it, why would he have to censor evade to get it put up? And that's assuming that the scammer is dealing with someone who hasn't seen all the "Jagex will only ever contact you through your message box, never pm, never e-mail, never" stuff.
There is nothing about it that seems legitimate, being all sent at once isn't what is going to give it away. Or if it does, last line of defence for someone who is easily tricked into giving out their password.

But it was the text wrap. Otherwise you'd need to get an account named Mod Mark, which you can't since one already exists. Also, no way their name assigner would let you make a name with "mod" in it. And if you were able to somehow obtain access to that account #1 you wouldn't need to be phishing #2 it'd have the crown. And even if they were able to get a crownless Mod Mark, you'd still be able to report his text, not just the "RS Server" text. And if it was real at all, why would you even be able to report a server message?

And last of all, why would they make Trekkie a pmod? That's the first thing that gives it away haahahha J K so funne rite

Well stranger things have happened to him...like being a moderator here? He must of had some sway with the higher ups to get a position like that. Maybe some "favors" were exchanged...money, drugs, alcohol. We all know how it works. Don't worry though trekkie. As Jagex always says...
