BAM! Should knock off about $100 for the australians and the UK one is going to drop from a whopping £200 to around £130.

Despite what he says in that article I.E the lack of sales being due to iphones i like to think hes an idiot and wrong.

The lack of sales are as follows:
1) The stupid price.
2) The stupid battery life.
3) The lack of games. A remake is not a reason to wallop down £200.
4) There inability to get the 3DS into consumer hands. If i got the chance to PLAY one I might be convinced. However right now i find myself wondering if I'll enjoy the 3D or if it'll make my eyes **** bleed. MOAR 3DS's out on display please nintendo.

But just to expand further on the battery life. I've never traveled with a handheld..i play my DS in my home. However a 3 hour battery life is crazyness why would i bother to buy your handheld when i know in about a year you'll release a newer version with double the battery life. You do get some free crappy games though for being an early buyer. Nice.

Well it's a good thing I haven't bought one yet. Perhaps later this year or the next version of this thing. Better battery life and a bigger screen sounds an awful lot better.

The people who already bought it at the expensive price do get 20 games for free.

When I first heard about the 3DS I thought it was a joke, seeing how the drastic price drop I see that I was right.
I hate how everything these days is "3D" the future sucks.

I've never liked portable game systems (though I own a lot of them)
My neck always hurts playing and can never find a position for my body to which I can play and actually be comfortable.

I'm quite happy with my PS3 and my iPhone. Don't need a 3DS. I managed to try one though, and the effect didn't even work that well. It took 5 minutes to adjust the "3D distance" to the right length, and the next time I moved, I had to adjust it again. My eyes didn't hurt though, but having said that, I only played for 20 minutes.

I actually plan to get a 3DS. Be patient, the game library will expand. I'm not worried about being able to play my gba games. I still have a gba sp for that but honestly, I don't even have that many games for that, so the nintendo eshop will be a great way for me to get those games. (yes, they will be getting gameboy and gba games soon) Not to mention that Kid Icarus and Luigi's Mansion 2 look pretty cool. I don't care about the battery life. If they fix it, cool. If they don't, well, I'm never too far from an outlet anyway. 3DS can be a promising handheld, it just needs time to grow.

With the lineup of 3DS games shown at E3 2011, more people are going to buy it for those nintendo "regulars" games such as mario, luigi, zelda, etc. Nintendo makes very good first party games, which keeps the fans hooked. The 3D effect in my opinion is really neat. I have played Ocarina of Time 3D on my friend's 3DS and it looked AMAZING!!!!!!!! Seeing OOT in 3D is just epic.

Was a very significant price drop, $170 for a 3DS sounds like a good deal if you ask me.

My cousin just bought one recently, he says he enjoys it. Me personally I'm still a fan of Pokemon Sapphire on the SP :P

I might get a 3ds but if I do I doubt i'll actually use the 3d function. Only reason I'll buy one is to play the new games of the generic nintendo franchises. I.e. LoZ, Pokemon, Mario Kart etc. Sold my DS lite a few months ago cause I was bored of the games on it so as soon as some interesting ones are released for the 3ds I'll consider it. But certainly not for the 3d crap. I saw it in a shop and my god it looked awful. It was like watching two obese sarah-jessica parkers making out. ... I just made myself feel ill.

I'd wait till they launch the newer model. 3 hour battery life on the current. And theres a nasty rumour giong around that the remake will add a second thumb stick..which will be pretty retarded if it turns out to be true. And it's looking like it might be true.

Newer model probaly has a bigger screen as well.

I actually saw the 3ds for the first time in real life yesterday, the effect is a nice feature though I really had a hard time focussing my eyes for the first 10 seconds or so. Not sure if I'm going to buy one. And if I do I'll probably import an American 3ds. Games are tons cheaper there.
For example:

Zelda OoT is $30 in the US (that's around €21). Here I've got to pay €49,99 (that's around $71) for the EU version. It's pathetic
