So today I installed the Firefox 6.0 update (English - British version)

And after the update installed, it tried to restart, but I got a crash report... not even my homepage would load. I restarted the computer and still the same problem. Even a full re-install didn't work.

I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit.

I really don't know how to solve it and would appreciate suggestions on how to get it working again. Cheers :p

That update has been popping up for me for like the past week or so. I just close it out because I'm perfectly happy with what I have now. I always have a feeling that if I update right away there's going to be some large problem with my computer and I'm going to have to uninstall it and get the previous version.

All I can suggest at this point is did you get the right version for your OS? 64-bit or whatever? Just a thought (not trying to insult your intelligence).

Firefox for Windows is only in x86, unless you get a nightly version. Either way you'll want the x86 version since a majority of plugins don't have x64 compatibility.

You can try to delete the Firefox data from your %appdata% locations and Program Files, this being after you uninstall. Reinstall after this point, see if that helps.

You could also try to download a 5.01 (or whatever the version was) executable and run that, perhaps something is just buggy with the initial 6.0 release.
