Totally! hell I was paying members when I took a year hiatus from the game. ( I'm dumb like that )
So just roll the dice. buy 1 month membership and if you don't think it's worth it.. don't buy anymore.

As all others have said, yes. Runescape was created to make money, as such, Jagex will really only give benefits to the members. Aside from that, the quests, skills, and activities really are quite entertaining. More bots though :/
