I thought it was only a few games you could only do that

Yeah..the one that springs to mind is C&C3 on the PS3 that allowed the use of a mouse and keyboard. The 360 wont let you use a mouse or keyboard for games at all.

Your also correct about the controllers. The whole "oh a mouse is more accurate" is just elitism. I can do just as well using a gamepad as i do a mouse. Makes no difference to me because the difference is a minor thing. It's there but it's a non-issue because as you said nobody uses a mouse on a console.

Your also right about 48 players on cod being ****. It is. The maps are designed for 12 people. At a push you could do 16 but 40+ would just be a spawn camp fest there too small for that.

Also mods mostly suck *** on the PC. Like seriously theres some good stuff but 99% of the stuff is *******. Crysis was a bad game too. Awful. Pretty but awful.

With those home truths thrown out there I'll get on topicish.

The one advantage and it's a big one that the PC has over the consoles is the freedom you get with player run servers. And that's being phased out as well because Devs are seeing the benefits of having a tight grip over your community with matchmaking and playlists.

PC gaming isn't dying it's fine. And it's not misinformed consumers buying old hardware it's people opting to pay £150 for a console that can play all modern day games that the PC can play + there exclusives.

The benefit for owning a gaming PC isn't there really. Better controls don't really factor into it for the above reasons. Better graphics? You'd have to nitpick to notice.

The big key was exclusive games and those have gone out the window. Blizzard themselves have been looking into bringing Diablo 3 to consoles.

I mean lets be honest what does it have to offer? The PS3 has uncharted, infamous, little big planet, resistence, Ratchet n clank. All good games. All coming out this year.

The PC uh..

....

.......Yeah is battlefield 3 an exclusive? I have no idea. It's got nothing to pull a consumer in. If i want to play games I want to play the best games out there not a few of them that look a little more sparkly here and there. Bugger that.

edit: As for that eagleeye...eh...It wouldn't surprise me if they block that thing in a patch. Sonys been cracking down on this stuff lately.

Did you all fail to recognize the ingenious humor of that sentence? That is hilarious. Enough of that, though.

I was going to say Warren that usually when I play games, I do take it seriously. Thus, a mouse and keyboard help for faster target acquisition and elimination. Oh...one sec...need to turn down the settings on the AI guide chip in my brain. Just a bit too serious and mechanical.

But honestly, when I think of seriousness, I think of coming out of a match with at least a 1:1 k/d because you were focused and trying to do well. I don't know of too many gamers who are at the top of the leaderboards who are relaxed. I believe if you relax too much, you are going to die a lot more and not garner as much enjoyment (unless you like to fail). And of course, I'm only referring to FPS games, but this could translate to other things just as well. Point is, I feel that games are both serious and relaxing, and how you play and enjoy them can be either. But I myself get much more enjoyment from succeeding from serious game play than from being relaxed and potentially losing more. Idk, makes sense to me.

Well by seriousness like sacrificing comfort for higher scores. Just because you're relaxed doesn't mean you're going to suck. Maybe you wont go on a 40 kill streak... but personally I don't need to come out on top to have had fun in the match. Like 1 kdr is good enough for me... which I disagree that you need to be focused to get that.

You'd be surprised how hard it can be in some games to get a 1 k/d ratio. I'm namely thinking of BFBC2, but there are others.
