I would donate, but only to people who would really needed. My definition of one that would really need it is someone who isn't lazy and who's SOL with money. Even though I'm skint I feel I should donate because there've been others in the past that have donated to me

For instance, I have something like 15m total stuff in my bank. I'd love to have bandos, but I can't afford it.
I wouldn't describe myself as needy. Bandos is nice, but its a luxury, not something I desperately need.

My idea of needy would be a low level dude with armour that's inappropriate for his level (or no armour at all)
Or a high level dude who got hacked, but you gotta make sure they've secured their account first, and that they ain't kidding.

From my viewpoint, once you own a set of rune, you're no longer needy, because its good enough for F2P, and although its pretty bad in members, it still works.
Especially with the low prices at the moment, you can pick up a dragon longsword at 60k, work your way up to 2m for a whip, or maybe some dragon armour (skirt's pretty cheap, for instance)

Then again, from my idea of needy, you'd probably be able to help well over 100 people with that 100m. I guess it all depends on if you'd rather help lots of people a little bit, or help a few people a lot.

As far as ideas on how to give it away to people who NEED it, could I suggest that you accept applications from people who would like the donation. The application would include the number one skill that they really wish to work on in the near future, the current level of that skill, and the short term goal they'd like to reach (99 does not qualify [-X

). Say, for example I wanted to train smithing so that I could get to the level required to smith steel platebodies (which are a good HLA money maker BTW, at this level of smithing), then the donation could include iron and steel bars or ores. This would enable the person to work on that skill. Not BUY the skill, but help with training somewhat.

I would suggest that the donation to the skill should be for a skill level lower than level 70 or so. You might want to be flexible with this. Pure ess for runecrafting, ores/bars for smithing, raw fish for cooking, logs for firemaking, bones for prayer, etc. Enough to give the person incentive to train the skill, but not spoil them.

I would leave this to your judgment, to decide the parameters for the donation. RSBandB community members working together to help each other is a wonderful idea!!! And 100M! Wow, that is very generous of you. Count me in!

lol. But really.. My level 80 friend has more then I do. But I'm neither a giver or a taker. Not really sure of your idea though.. It's good spirited but I feel people should work for their money. We all were poor and needy at one point or another. ( I still am ) Don't let me ( decent ) stats fool you. I really have nothing, but I manage.

Dano makes a very good point in this with donating stuff for training rather than money and armours. But the question is, what is the factor that decides who gets a donation. For example I have nice armour and weapons (bandos, claws etc.), and I want to get 85 herblore so I can stew to extreme potions, but cannot do so without selling multipule items. Would that be something that would be donated to, or would it be donated to people that have nothing? Note: I'm not asking for stuff, i'm just using this as an example. This is a very good cause and if i was not saving and saving for herblore I would make a few donations. Who knows, if I get a big drop I may give some away

I have decided what I might do.

A compromise.

I will do a drop party for all of bandb that wishes to come and a portion of the 100m I wanted to give will be set aside for the people who need it.

I think this would be the fairest way to go about doing what I wanted to do
