KBD SUCKS.

i recently went back to kbd after 1 year not been there, and what a complete fail it is. horrendous drops, its a ridicule, so easy to kill.
i can understand it appealing to lower level players, but still it sucks so hard.

Early this year, I think Jagex said they'd look into improving the drops for the KBD and KQ. I guess you can still hope for a visage or elite clue in the mean time.

I have never really had much fun going to the KBD ever, I guess I missed the good period. I was either too low level to do it effectively, or too high level so it was too easy.

I think you have to look at it from a low levels point of view. This big bad sitting out in the wilderness. It's probably exciting taking him down for the first time. Snap with the KQ.

when my friend and I where both level 80, we decided to delve deep into the darkest area of RuneScape to take on the famous KBD. With our inventory of sharks, antifire potions, and a few ranging potions because we were noobs, we faced off against this noble adversary. He hit through our shields and potions and nearly took us out on the fourth round of fighting. I guess you just missed that period shwa, because the KBD is slayable but difficult from lvl 70-90 combat.

I think a 100+ saying the KBD sucks is like a level 40 saying goblins suck. The level 40 won't do that though. He'll be content with the difficult monsters of his level, those dastardly red spiders. The level 100+ has to realize that he's past the KBD, and should go see how well he manages against someone in the GWD, or even the Corporeal Beast.

yea... it was kind fun when i was lower level, nowadays it's just boring -.-'.. sometimes i go with lower levels friends and have fun there but drops are just about luck but yea..

I agree.
I think the drops need to be reworked. Drops were nice in 2003. Not so nice now.

i don't think the Kbd sucks... it may be hard to get a good drop but it is fun to kill and if you go with a group you can get so many kills a maybe a good drop.

I agree, the King Black Dragon should be reworked a bit. They should make it tougher to kill, but also make it worth the effort with better drops. I never found time for the KBD or God Wars Bosses or even Jad, but since I'm closing in on my last few 99's I figured I'd start trying out some new stuff.

I recently visited the KBD for the first time in my Runescape career. I soloed him and on the first drop got a Dragon med helm (not that good but at least a rare drop). The best I got after that was noted yew logs, pretty weak considering the food and pots I had to use. I managed 9 kills before I ran out of antifire and prayer pots.

I don't think I'll bother with him again unless it's part of a group like with RSBandB. I can get more kills and better drops with less resources consumed by doing iron or steel dragons.

i remember when KBD was the biggest and strongest monster in the game. killing him with a group was a lot of fun and required a lot of tactics to take him down. what i still am waiting for is Queen Black Dragon.

It's definately not a viable source of money, but it's rather fun. I've logged over 1k kills there, still no visage =( but I've got 4 KBD heads...

That would be cool. They could have the Queen Black Dragon in her lair, protecting her dragon eggs. Perhaps some baby black dragons would hatch during the battle to make things more interesting.

Or how about this for a great group battle. Have a whole Black Dragon family to do battle with. The daddy (King Black Dragon), the mommy (Queen Black Dragon), a few older kids (Regular Black Dragons), and some baby's (Baby Black Dragons). That would be a fun and challenging battle, even for a group.

I myself have never gone to KBD just based on the fact that the drops just don't seem worth the hassle. There has got to be something that they could do to make it more interesting. Maybe introduce a new item this way? That would definitely draw people to it.

I've been present for two visage drops at the KBD.. I don't think it's overly rare; however it might be that I'm just lucky.. I've always seen the KBD as something more casual that pretty much anyone can come to. Something for a group of friends to go do when they want to chill and relax. If you look at it that way it's pretty decent just the way it is.

It was designed in a different time lol... and first designed for RSC XD. The average player was a lot different back then as well as the equipment available, I think in 7 years if you go back to the toughest boss now, if left unchanged, will be pretty easy for low levels and such and the drops wont be great anymore ether. I don't know if it necessarily has to be reworked to be tougher or anything, maybe have a bit more of a draw to it in terms of drops I guess... idk, imo it's kind of fun enough to do once in a while not even for drops.
