Indeed. Passwords should not be words but rather a string of letters and numbers (perhaps even punctuation if allowed). Password cracking software can ultimately crack a password if it's an english word. Don't choose the name of your pet dog or your mother's maiden name or anything like that. If you have a hard time creating one you can remember off by heart, create one from a combination of things you can never forget. For example, take a name of something, like your town or street or middle name. Then write it out backwards, leaving spaces between the letters. Then take a string of numbers that you won't forget, like your telephone number, birthdate, address, etc. and intersperse the numbers between the letters, either forwards or backwards. For example, if I take the word
Canada and intermix it with say my telephone number
555-1234 (fake of course) it could look like this:
4 a 3 d 2 a 1 n 5 a 5 C 5 In the above example, both Canada and the telephone number are backwards. You could have them both forwards for a second password, or one forwards and one backwards for a third. If you ever forgot your password string then at least you could easily recreate it if you remember how you made it. A password like this is almost impossible to crack by any means other than a keylogger. Hope this helps.
