I started playing Runescape in June 2007, but I've known about the game since 2005. Funny thing is, I didn't play because of the "Age Restriction". I started off probably worse than your average noob. I remember killing goblins for two weeks, saving up for a black sword.
Anyway, I started my goal for 99 Woodcutting at level 50. I'd get level's on and off, mostly because I'd just sit there and stare at the game the entire time I played. No movies, youtube, music, podcast, nothing. So, I got bored easily.
I mainly play World of Warcraft now. But recently, I changed my password, and forgot it. For the past 2 weeks, I've been waiting to get it back. To pass the time, I started playing Runescape again. I thought, "I'll finally get 99 woodcutting". I started at level 91. It's going really fast with Ivy, I was 80+ woodcutting before Ivy came out.
I don't know what 99 to go for next, so, being a skiller, I decided to round off all of my skills. Such as, I'm 24 Farming now, I'll get that to 30. I'm surprised that I like farming a lot more that I thought. After that, I'll probably get 100+ combat, do farming runs, and runecraft if I get on Runescape.
Shot comparison of WOW to RS. WOW does a lot of things good, PVP, PVE, Quest, Collecting, etc. The game is made for anyone to adapt to. You don't have to feel like you have to log in everyday. For the amount of time your not on, you're given rested exp, which is Double exp for a limited amount of time, and is capped off at a certain point.
I personally think the best thing Runescape has to provide is Quests. Most of them have good storylines, and have a reason to finish. I didn't expect this post to be so long. O.o
