IGN has posted the review of the game. I must say I am rather impressed, the only downside of the game being just a few minor bugs I'll be looking forward to picking this baby up tomorrow.

Gotta wait till friday in the UK. Hate it when a game is released more than a day or two after America...most sites i frequent become giant spoiler nests.

Time to lay low, as far as forum browsing goes, for a few days, really don't want to come across any spoilers for this game. Already had one of my American friends try to tell me how awesome it was and explain the beginning to me.

I preordered mine with Shopto, great price (£42 for the LE), and in the past I've got games from them as much as 2 days before the release date. But they actually had a notice on their website that they wouldn't be dispatching until today so you wouldn't receive it until the release date.

-_-

Yeah got mine today too, couldn't download my downloadable content yet but oh well. Won't give away any spoiler but it's good as I expected.

I dunno, it doesn't look great. It basically looks like Gun combined with Fable II. I don't think I would have a lot of fun with it, but I'm not a big fan of western themed things to begin with.

It's more GTA IV crossed with Gun, the HUD is pretty much the same as GTA IV and the jump animation is pretty similiar too. I dunno it's a lot of fun at the moment, I guess you have to like open world/sandbox games.

Think you got the better deal tbh if I'd seen the LE at that price I'd have taken it.

Not a fan of the moral **** they've got going on either actually..especially as so far there showing John to be a good guy..it makes making bad choices seem rather odd. Lets face it you play a sandbox game to be a real **** and if your worrying about your moral stance it sorta ruins it.

But Kenny is correct in that it's more GTA meets gun. If you don't like western films I'd skip it tbh it's like one giant western film that you can run about in.

I think I've done like 4 story line missions lol

I have found one of my favourite features tho;You can jump from a height onto your horses back and ride off. They've thought of everything. 8)

You guys are right, it's GTA crossed with Gun, with a tiny bit of the moral system from Fable. Anyway, enough of my XBL friends convinced me to buy it. It's an alright game. The multiplayer is fun, but at the same time it drives me nuts sometimes. I hate 3rd person shooters. They always have awkward controls, and once you begin doing something (like climbing over something), you're stuck doing that until the animation is done, which winds up killing me all the time.

Liking the game so far, one gripe I would have is the fact that when I ordered the Limited Edition copy, I was under the impression I'd get the costume straight off. Instead I've had to wait around to be challenged for a duel, and now I've completed what I thought was the last step, before being told that it wasn't finished and I'd have to wait for a bit and come back in the future to carry on. All I want is the god **** costume :(

I can't comment on Gun because I've never played it, but as for comparisons to GTA. This is way more than just GTA in a western setting. The voice acting is amazing, far better than any GTA game.. or any other game for that matter, the landscape seems much more natural and beautiful than GTA: San Andreas which was all a bit stale. It's like they've taken the GTA mould and improved it tenfold. The characters are all so deep and all seem so varied. Not just generic gangsters A,B & C. The weather system is also pretty awesome, was just riding through the desert at night in a thunderstorm and every time lightning struck it briefly illuminated the canyon I was riding through and it's surroundings, probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing visuals I've ever seen in a game.

Dead eye is a little jerky shooting when switching targets.. but that's a minor complaint and it's the only thing about the game that's bothered me at all up to this point. Barely in to the missions yet so can't really comment on the storyline. But so far it all seems pretty amazing.
