When i was 9 my sister took a pack of gum from a store while we were walking in and i noticed it so i put it in my pocket and forgot about it so i walked out of the store with it and noticed it when i got home... thats it really

People are forgetting about downloading songs/films/games online for free, that's all stealing.
I download songs quite often.

Yah you raise a good point. I call it a "test run" over stealing though. If i like the song/film I'll go and buy it. I admit rarely however do i like it enough to pay. I've only ever pirated games that are so old that i can't buy them anywhere or i previously owned them but the disc got ruined/lost. And a more recent game because the **** deserved it.

Reason why i don't bother with games is because i get a demo i can see how the mechanics work and if I'll enjoy it. A single from an album does not represent the rest of the album and a films trailer only ever shows the good bits anyway.

I think some might call this trying to justify my thieving ways so it's ok to do and it is. And they do make it ok to do. Music is much better now that i can buy tracks for 59p or whatever it is but films still have the problem of forcing me to go to a cinema to watch when I've got a lovely big HD tv at home that would work just as well. So I'll keep living up to my name and being a pirate. Yarg.

On that note, I sometimes download music when I am at my dads house, but thats all.

Oh of course the downloading stuff will be my only stealing. Otherwise, I don't see the need to steal as long as I can survive with more than necessary. I don't want to steal stuff but I won't stop friends from doing it as long as I stay out of their way.

I've stolen a few times from Tesco, but that's about it. Oh, and a few things from school, ofcourse, who hasn't ?
My mate got caught stealing an Xbox game from HMV once.. Ah, good times. Desperate so he was.

I always used to end up taking rulers, erasers etc from school but I wouldn't consider that stealing since that's what they're there for and my tax money is going towards my education. I also will steal school supplies from people I don't really like if I lose an eraser, etc going from class to class. Other than those little things though I don't steal anything and I don't intend on starting.

Edit: I was reading some other posts and I realized that I steal songs all the time, although I don't consider that stealing for some reason, probably because it's not hurting anyone-not even the artists since I wouldn't buy their music in the first place.

I forgot a few things:

I do take a lot of supplies from my art room. But I don't really consider it "stealing" because I did pay a 50 dollar fee for supplies in the beginning of the year and I use them all towards my art. Well, I do have a lot of extra supplies that I just keep anyway but really it's almost like I'm saving it. All the level one kids RUIN all the art supplies. Most of the paint brushes are rock hard from people not washing them out, the paint is almost all gone all the time because people take way to much and then just wash it down the sink when they're done, the graphite packages become misplaced and broken, etc! It's frustrating! The bottom line though it technically is stealing because we're supposed to sign out the supplies and take them back but I never do.

And yes I do download music all the time. I just take them off youtube.
