First marijuana cafe opens in the US.

I walked by this place today and just went wha...?
So I ran home and did what any sensible person would do, googled it.

What are your opinions on this? Personally I don't give a **** but I've heard several people complain about it, but many more praise it.

i think its awesome they're doing this for people that take it medicinally. just hopefully their keeping their eyes out for people that might fake it or something to try to get in there. idk the reason marijuana is needed for medicine but it almost seems like a "oo ok i can get this if i "need" it so yea i beleive i need it" thing. Wish all smokers had to be outta sight too. hate haveing to breath in someone elses 2nd hand smoke when i choose to live a healthy life

Well it's used mostly for chronic pain and people going through chemotherapy. The side effects chemotherapy are supposed to be complete hell as far as I know and chronic pain is self-explanatory.

And for diseases where medication decreases appetite, so the smoking of marijuana induces 'the munchies' and makes sure they don't waste away.

As long as this is kept under tight control I have no problewm with it.

It doesn't really bother me as I already know a few people who smoke weed. They aren't addicted but do it out of choice, and it seems to do less harm to them than their smoking does so I'm not too fussed.

I'm not to happy about this it's still marijuana and could be used for the wrong purposes but,who am i to know?

People are going to get it one way or another. About 2/3 the people I know do it and I know of more than 3 doctors who will prescribe the (good) medical version of it for anything as a stubbed toe or worse.

It's not stopping and places around here are starting to legalize it as well.
Example: Breckenridge.

It isn't possible to get addicted to weed unless mixing it with something else. Personally I don't do this but I don't think the government should endorse it although they should legalize it and tax it.

Yeah I kinda worded that wrong. I meant that they're really not bothered if they take it or not.

I'm rather split on the matter really. Half of me knows it's wrong and wants it to remain banned. The other half believes if you choose to do it you're an utter **** and deserve to die. Drop dead. Hopefully in a painful way.

I'm not sure if i like this. I mean, basically it's "legalised dealing". For those who need it for medicinal purposes, they should get it through a doctor. Unfortunatley, what's to say if people who actually have medical problems won't give it to someone who dosen't. Now a way to combat this would be to have some sort of card that entitles the person to buy it in small doses. The only way it would happen would be through a doctor's approval. Then they would have to swipe it at the cafe. The card bearer would have to renew the license annually (those who have ilnesses that can't be cured are automatically renewed).

I'm sure if they enforce it well it won't be a problem, but I can almost guarantee there are already people abusing the cafe. Seems like it's an attempt to move marijuana more towards legalization.

The only reason they were probably allowed to open the cafe was because it clearly states medical.
