A new challenge awaits worthy adventurers at the Champions’ Guild! It doesn’t matter if you have never seen a champion scroll in your life or have defeated all of them already, there will be something for you. The leprechaun champion is taking on all-comers – there’s no need to find a challenge scroll to fight this little pugilist. Just head on over to the Champions’ Guild and prepare yourself for some ‘no items’ fisticuffs.

Also, three new races have just joined the guild. If you prove yourself to be their enemy, one of them might just drop a scroll challenging you to a duel with their champion, so keep an eye out when battling monsters! Meanwhile, Glophren, the gnome champion of champions, is waiting for the worthiest of adventurers so he can finally issue his challenge. Will you be one of them?

What with the days getting shorter and colder, we thought we'd brighten things up with some new hairstyles! The much requested ‘mullet' haircut is now available, as well as a few variants on existing styles. The full list is as follows...

Male hairstyles: Dragon variant, Mohawk shaved, Mullet.

Female hairstyles: Asymmetric fringe, Half-up/half-down, Headband, Page boy.

In other news...

Two worlds have been designated ‘Skill Total’ worlds - that's world 113 (free) and 114 (members). Only players who have a total level of at least 1,000 will be able to log into these worlds. If this proves to be popular, we can always add more worlds.

We've created a handful of item packs for some shops, similar to the box of spirit shards. In certain shops, you can now buy the whole stock of eyes of newt, empty or water-filled vials, raw bird meat, and empty baskets or sacks in one go.

A click-delay issue has been fixed in Castle Wars. The game engine has been modified to adjust the behaviour of these clicks back to their previous speed.

An animation has been added for when players are viewing the world map. Other players will see them in-game looking at a map.

A large number of items with parentheses after their names have had spaces added for consistency and easier searching on the Grand Exchange (e.g. “Agility potion(4)” is now “Agility potion (4)”).

An altar has been added to an upper floor in Falador Castle for players to recharge their Prayer points at.

We've added a confirmation when casting High Alchemy on items with a Grand Exchange value of 500,000gp or higher. This should prevent the accidental alching of those expensive items.

We’ve also converted the Superheat, Enchant lvlx and Plank Make spells to work in a similar fashion to High and Low Level Alchemy spells (i.e. you can now queue up your next cast).

Slayer Masters have now been given a right-click ‘Get-task’ option to speed things up a bit. You can also find out how many more kills you need with a right-click option on enchanted gems, which will even work if you are currently in combat. Finally, gargoyles have a new ‘Smash’ option when they're near death to allow you to more easily finish them off with a rock hammer.

Drop tables for the TzHaar have been significantly reworked and now drop more TokKul than before. This is to make up for the changes in the TzHaar shop prices earlier this year. The TokKul awarded for defeating TzTok-Jad in the Fight Caves has also been doubled.

The fairy ring network has been given an auto-dial feature. You’ll still need to discover each fairy ring destination to put in your log, but once there they can be simply clicked on to input the code for you.

Yanille has had more points of entry added to it in the form of a new ladder and doorway.

This week’s patch notes are also more extensive than usual. To read the complete list, check out this forum thread.

Well, now people actually have a reason to visit the champions guild. However it seems the rewards are useless. Hairstyles are okay, people usually just wear a helmet, but whatever. It does beg the question, "The much requested ‘mullet' haircut is now available" who are these mullet requesters?

Anyway, item packs seem like a good idea, especially for my vials :) But the 1000 Total Level worlds? There are approximately 1,325,000 people that can access these worlds. There are only 2,000,000 people in the highscores. I really do not think Jagex is keeping out anyone really. Now, if they bumped the entry level to 1500, only 340,000 people could get in. That is where I think the best place would be for high levels. If it was 2000, it would be full of high-level ***-holes, who are so pompus already, and would just LOVE to just be in eachother's company. You know the type.

Either way, it is a fairly average update. 3/5

P.S. This update was really super-hyped on the forums, because of the Jagex twitter, people really thought it was going to be a new skill. So if you want some laughs, look at the threads of the disappointed people on the recent updates forum :D

More like bug fixes than real content update. I've never once had a champion scroll and I've been playing for years and years. Things are extremely rare for a thing that really doesn't give a great reward.

Went down to the champs guild anyway and did the gnome one..you get 500 slayer exp and 500 in another skill. Not really worth bothering with took me a few minutes.

Tbh i don't see the point in doing it unless it's going to keep the majority out. It's not low levels that are annoying it's the rs community in general.

Restrictions should be 100mill+ exp or 2k+ total. Also works out better cause theres less people eating up the worlds resources then, it wont do much but every little helps when you have hundreds of thousands of exp to get.

Awesome tweaks. I'll have to check up on the Champion guild stuff. I've NEVER had a scroll before, so it's nice to see a slight rework.

I think I'll give the f2p world a try, it might be a lot easier to train now! It's also a lot more difficult to get level 1000 in f2p than p2p, they probably should have made it 1500-2000 for p2pers.

Hopefully they add more worlds like this, I think it's a great idea.

Some nice tweaks but the actual update was pretty lame considering we didn't get an update last week.

This week had a lot of little updates that were great, the gargoyle and quick slayer task updates were my favorite :)

The 1000+ total level update was a bit useless although 1000 total level in f2p is fairly impressive since its an average level of 71 which is decently high.

I just wish Jagex wouldn't have done the skill level worlds so half assed, they should have done 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000, and 2200.

Let's be honest, the new hair styles were just filler content and the champions scroll update was unnecessary, that was always a hard song to get crossed off your list and now it's a joke.

I'll give this week's updates a 4/5 because of the tweaks and fixes.

I think the update is okay. I do wish they would have added the new feature of the Slayer Gem to the Slayer Ring as well.

The Champion's Challenge update is irrelevant as you'll still never get one of those things, but the rest of the fixes make up for it. I agree that the total level should have been at least 1500, but perhaps if they're popular as they say, they'll add more of different level requirements.

how is it harder in p2p? i think it's easier in p2p.

as for my opinion 4/5 the new worlds are pretty nice, never gotten a scroll(been f2p most of the time) pretty good all in all.

Very good updates today. Don't have to worry about alching my SGS while it's in my inventory
