Text to MP3

Anyone know of a good program (as in I can install it

) that can convert text to speech in an MP3 format? It would be preferably free of course :wink:

You could use the Windows speech to text and record it with Audacity

Eh... As a last resort maybe.
Another thing is I'd like is to be able to in/decrease the speed of the speech

I'm don't know another way, I'm sorry. But remember, Windows text to speech does allow you to change the speed...

It won't sound good if you're doing Text to Speech, especially since I'm assuming you're going to do a book or something.

In any case, if you record to mp3 and set it to be a Podcast or Audiobook (can't remember which one gets the setting.. Think it's audiobook) and speed them up on your iPod. It supposedly sounds alright when you do so.
