Thank you for seeing the amusing side to it all and realizing it's my opinion and really shouldn't be bothering anyone. And not just making a lot of assumptions.

I actually think Brutal legend would of been the best thing to happen to the franchise. I might of even bought the thing. Sadly they dropped it because they couldn't make it work as a spin off.

For the past several months now they've been trying to kill it or at the very least delay it because they see it as a threat to GH amusingly enough. But today I'm rather happy because they backed off. Settling out of court. I celebrated by getting out my firey guitar and setting the couch on fire. Like a true rocker.

Actually I dont see any improvement since GH3, It's the same thing. In all honesty, take a 2 year break and come back with a huge update.

I prefer to wait 2 year and have something incredibly cool and never seen before instead of buying 5 versions of the game with different characters and songs.

I really dont see why they dont make Expansion TrackList Pack with about ~20 new songs, then you copy it into your X360/Ps3/Wii hard drive then load it with your main guitar hero game.

That would be more interesting, instead of releasing something like:

OMG LIKE THE NEW GUITAR HERO IS THE SAME THING AS THE PREVIOUS ONE, BUT GUESS WHAT!!!! WE ADDED A SUPER COOL NEW GIGA TOP PRO CHARACTER AND ONE SUPER MEGA COOL SONG!!!!

The only big improvement from Guitar Hero franchise was the ability to use drum and microphone, and it was ripped off rock band :|

Still Guitar Hero is very cool and fun to play, but we need something more. It gets old and repetitive.
They release about 5 guitar hero games every year. And that's too much, espiecally if it's always the same **** thing.

This is why you only rent Guitar Hero/Rockband now if you already own a copy or two. Or just mooch of friends. Once they add the ability to use your own songs a la Audiosurf they game will be excellent.

If one day they make the ability to use your own songs...It will be...
The most awesome thing in the world

I believe it's still too complicated to do it. They'd have to associate every sound to a fret, Which is...Well if someday they get able to do it, I will be truely impressed.

Didn't they already do such a thing? Allow you to create your own music? Or are you talking about your own music as in albums you own and such? If so that will never happen. Ever.

I believe the frets are mostly computer-generated already... So for sure, the technology exists, but it will never be released because no one would buy later GH games. And you know how Activision is.

However, there may be a chance that a program like that would be created by fans and released for free in the internet.

Creepy's right. It will never happen. 2 simple reasons: they will have to get contracts signed for every single song under the Sun for them to be used on the game, and have to keep doing that for every song written, and they will also lose money.

Also the music creator was ****, all the songs were like having a polyphonic ringtone on an old mobile phone.

@Creepy
Creating your own music is possible since GH:WT

As for myself, I was talking about the ability to throw a song on your Hard drive, open it with GH and be able to play it.

But as you said, I doubt it will ever happens. But I keep the faith :P Technology can be impressive. I remember when people used to say OMFG NO CONSOLE WILL EVER HAVE BETTER GRAPHICS THAN THE SNES!!!!

Slimppu, I get your point. This technology is probably already existing, but they fear to release it because I presume no one will ever buys GH games and it will cause a huge loss of money to them.

Fairly sure theres already a PC game about that lets you upload your own songs. Fairly sure you can make the plastic guitars compatible with it too.

Someone posted it on here long ago.

Frets On Fire? Yeah, but it takes a bunch of work and a lot of annoyance to do so. (In my opinion)

That, and Guitar Hero is far better.

Yeah, FoF doesn't fret the songs for you, you'll have to do that yourself. Thankfully the game has a large library of songs though.

If they would have to get contracts by every band/label, why can Audiosurf do the same thing just on a smaller scale?

It may not be Guitar Hero or Rockband, but hopefully another developer will come along and do this and take all sales away from GH and RB.
