Warcraft before WoW

Has anyone played the Warcraft games that came before WoW?

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans (1994)
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (1995)
Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal (1996)

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (2002)
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (2003)

I've played all of these games at one point or another during my lifetime, and I have to say these games are amazing, especially Warcraft II, which has one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard before.

i played wc3 and the expansion. it was okay, i guess i got too used to starcraft type of gameplay.

i tried wc1.... but... it's tooo ancient...

warcraft 1 is still one of my favorite games of all time
to me these games are better than wow
if wow was like warcraft but online that would have been amazing

You should try Wc2, it's not nearly as ancient, and somewhat similar to Starcraft as well.

I worked in a computer lab in college and we used to network Warcraft II and play after hours. Some of the best gaming sessions I can remember.

Thing is you can't really compare them because they are 2 completely different game genres.

I can't say I've played any of these as I prefer the RTS games based around vague real life i.e. Age Of Empires.

I've played all of them, and warcraft II was by far the best. I believe they came out with a battlenet version, but I was never able to get my hands on one..

warcraft 3 wasn't what I thought it would be. It had great graphics, but it didn't even come close to warcraft II in "funness"

I have the ps1 version of warcraft II

I never played any of them myself but I remember my Mom's Boyfriend playing Orcs & Humans and Reign of Chaos. They looked fun but back then it looked too hard for me.

WC1 and 2 are no harder than Starcraft, if you've ever played it. They are a few of the earlier Real-Time Strategy games, so if you've played a lot of RTS, they're easy to get used to.

i have both WC3 but I've never played WC1 or 2.
i was actually playing WC3 before I came on.
i nearly play every day.

Warcraft = RTS
World of Warcraft = MMORPG based off of Warcraft.

Played all of them and still have all the disks sitting on a shelf somewhere. Used to play 2v2 LAN matches on WC3 almost everyday with a few friends, most fun I have ever had playing a RTS.

Yes! I loved Warcraft 3 so much as I loved its aspect of an rts with a little RPG element in it. I recently downloaded Warcraft 1 and 2 and as soon as I can get my DOSbox to work I'll play them.
