I have a Foo Fighters DVD that I want to get the audio off of so I can listen to it without running down the battery on my iPod.

Thanks in advance.

You can do this with Audacity, once you download and install it you can change the input source located by the recording volume to "Wave Out Mix".

You may want to change your sound scheme to no sounds and make sure that there are no programs open which are going to make noise.(Like instant messengers and email clients.)

Now open the DVD in your favorite media player but don't play it yet. In Audacity press the red circle to start recording and quickly flip over to your media player and start playing the DVD, If the DVD has some time before the music starts then you could do this in the opposite order. If you have to go through a menu or want to fast forward to a certain point first then do so before starting the recording on Audacity.

Spoiler for Everything else:

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

Ripping MP3s from DVDs

That's LifeHacker's solution. Sounds like it's fairly easy too.

Hum, it seems those solutions work great, but what I did quite some time ago with my Muse DVD was just open it in a video editor like Adobe Premiere, separate the audio and video, and just save the audio by chapter. It came out in a nice high quality .wav as well. :)

I can't work that program. It says to put in the video file, but i'm doing straight off a DVD, so there is no video file.

You just use the program to find the .vob file on the dvd and it'll rip the audio from there.
