Hey guys. I was looking at RuneHQ and I looked at the top article (when this post was posted anyway)

Since we are one of those "popular" fansites, can this be confirmed if Jagex is getting affiliated with the fansites?

Idk, but I'm 99% certain that RSBANDB isn't a popular fansite.

It'd be more like the big 3, maybe Sals. Although, they're not fond of Zybez.

We're too good, don't you know?

Just kidding. RuneHQ seems to like to show off, hence their big advertisement about Jagex contacting them.

I would consider us to have one of the best and most creative communities. Other quote 'popular' fansites out there don't have all that great of communities. I think the only reason RHQ is popular is because they were the first 'big one' that stayed around. I think the reason we wouldn't be considered a 'popular' fansite is because we don't get a thousand new members everyday who spam up our boards.

I would hope Jagex would contact us. If they only contact RHQ and Tip.it then that's pretty slim pickings for ideas. No offense to those sites, Tip.it is a good site, I mean that two sites could only cover ten thousand or so (if they're lucky) players. They should atleast contact the 10 which they consider to be best (not most popular, best).

If they really want ideas then they'll read posts and forums anonymously. If it requires a login they can register as joe shmoe or john doe or Pker7983o or anything unsuspecting. They should also read fansite newspapers and listen to fansite podcasts anonymously. The more they flaunt that they're Jagex instead of another player the worse responses they'll get. Oh they'll get responses - tons of them - but they won't be thought out or sensible.

If they want to only contact the top three most popular fansites then they should run a poll on favorite fansites and list all the active ones they can find.

Jagex can go suck a lemon for all I care (I wish I could use a harsher phrase but.. ). They've shown time and again they rarely listen to what the player wants and time and again they act only in the interest of deepening their own pockets. So you can excuse me if I think this whole new round of 'We want to interact with the comunity!!' is just *******.

If they want tips on community interaction and listening to players they only need look at how Blizzard do things in regards to running forums and community based activities. One of the reasons Blizzard is so much more sucessful than Jagex (other than the fact they have a game that doesn't revolve around grinding endlessly) is the fact they have a friendly face as a company. They **** players off now and then but the majority of the WoW playing population don't view them with the same contempt most RS players view Jagex.

Although personally I prefer Jagex as they are. It makes them a hell of a lot easier to mock every week.

I can't think of anything worse than sucking on a lemon right now... I have nasty mouth ulcer.

Rsbandb is nowhere near as popular as RuneHQ or Zybez etc.

We may not be as popular but all i would take is people from runehq using the forums to see were better. I at one time a long time ago was a regular on runehq but was banned for arguing (imagine that). There forums suck and so does there administration. Shane and mike and everyone here is generally nice. All it will take is Jagex to browse there forums to see that there all idiots.

BTW, who all came over when runehq shut down...

We are a small community, we can't expect to get noticed by Jagex.

However, it is a shame that jagex is contacting some sites who are making profits off runescape rule breaking ads when small communities like us are paying money out of our own pockets to keep the site running as a result of blocking all these types of advertisements.

Assuming this is true..

RuneHQ? They have more problems than I have fingers to count on. Don't think I'd ask them for suggestions on how to make Runescape better. In fact, I'm not sure that Runescape can be made any better. There would have to be a total overhaul of the game and community for me to even consider playing it again.

People are coming across as rather bitter in this thread. It's not a big deal, they want to get the mass opinion, you wont get that here.

Mike does have a point. If they indeed went to these certain sites with "SELLING RS GOLD FOR CHEAP ZOMG" types of ads, wouldn't Jagex notice this and cut off talks? In my mind, this would further alienate them from the communities. Granted, from what I've seen, Rsbandb has gotten a bit smaller since I was last here, so it is only natural to take from the biggest draws; however, I would like to see a top 10 sort of thing.

Might as well put the adverts up, it's not like they can sell gold anymore. Not without going onto someones account and macroing the hell out of it.

Clearly they don't care so I don't see any reason M&S should go out of pocket over it.

Runehq:- "help mold the great game of RuneScape into the best there is"
Shouldn't it be mould?

Also, I think this community is far to small compared to sites like Zybez & Runehq.
