Actually, I have a debit card and I'm definitely not inclined to just swipe it at my every whim. This is probably because I understand that all that card means is I don't have to carry around the paper; that card is what I have earned and nothing more.
That being said, I am still disinclined to use it over cash. If I see I'm running low on cash, I usually ration it out until my next paycheck when I deposit the majority into my checking account and keep around $50-70 cash out.
Since I'm a waitress, I see cash faster than one would being paid weekly or biweekly with only a paycheck. I put the money that I earn aside until payday (my checks are really small since servers only get paid an extremely small amount hourly), then I deposit it all (except the small bit I keep for use), thus mimicking only earning a paycheck every two weeks to make money management much easier on myself. :]
