The importance of strong passwords

I did a vanity search on Google to see where my rs name came up. Most of the results were RSBandB posts but one caught my attention. My username was in a list of account names that others were using to try to hack accounts. I'm not concerned since I'm pretty good at making sure my passes are very strong but its kind of creepy to see my name in a list like this.

You're getting me **** scared now lmao. After google'n you to see you on their list I looked for myself didn't find me. Then I googled myself and found a few more list from diffrent sites and found my name lol. :shock:

but yea always have a long random password that you only use on runescape

... There are Runescape hacking sites who have password crackers, who try to brute force into lists of usernames, using a list of passwords.

To acquire that username list, they have username leechers, in which they pull a random rank range from the hiscores. Don't worry about these fools, they're just script kiddies. They can't do ****, and you're safe. You always will, if you have an alphanumeric password.

The only accounts they can uber hax into, is the tardmuffins who use common passwords. Here are a few that the shallow underground use in their lists:

dragon
monkey
killer
fighter
owner
legolas

etc. They're punks. You have nothing to worry about.

Yikes. My password was so good that when I went to log into my account a few weeks ago, I'd already forgotten it. As for Google searches, none brought up any hacking sites. Rofl, but it did bring up some porno. Naughty, naughty, extremewench.
