Regardless of the fact that Obama has 'won' all three debates and Palin didn't do that well in the VP debate, it wouldn't greatly surprise me if McCain got elected. No offense intended to any Americans, but your electorate has a history of voting for the wrong guy.

I have to agree with Brad, even though Palin and Mcain are really out there they'll probably get elected just because they're white.

History shows that during a time of economic crisis the opposite party in power is elected. The odds are already against McCain. But nobody really can tell. The polls have been fairly even and we still haven't seen how the undisided will vote.

Even though most of the polls are in Obama's favour it's no real guarantee. I was reading about something called the 'Bradley effect' the other day. I won't bother explaining it here but you can read up on it if you're interested. Seems a pretty niche effect but it could certainly apply to this election.

Exactly.

McCain being white has no significant impact. America isn't full of racist people, most of us could care less what color you are.
However, I'm willing to bet that a lot of people will vote for Obama because he's black, and because if they vote for him and he wins then they just made history. While if they vote for McCain they're just living in another 4 years of "White people have to much power, America doesn't care about minorities."

Don't see how that figures in all honesty. Majority of people with the situation being as it is (Economy in ruin, Iraq, etc.) people will vote for who they think can get them out of it. I doubt most people care about making history. But I still believe if Obama doesn't win it's because of his skin colour. I think it's a handicap more than a plus, because I think a lot of people are closet racists even if they won't admit it. Plenty of rednecks would rather a dumb white guy was their president than a smart black guy.

McCain is 'safe'. Obama is something entirely different - He's not going to be another boring president, and some people don't like that.

Yes Brad, this is one election im looking froward to our election process messing up again.

Personally i thought McCain did better then Obama. Joe da plumber worked well for McCain.

Thought it was decent myself, untill I watched SNL and they MURDERED him!!! It was like the were sacrificing him to the comedy gods and spewing his guts across the tv screen. It was a massacre.

and i think mccain stomped obama in the election, obama was on defense the whole debate while mccain was going after him.
im independant some im not just another one of those people that only wants someone to win because they are in the same party as me, personaly i think political parties are a mistake and they should never of been invented. why didnt you just listen to george washington ? why? why!?!?!?

Ya, i'd admit that Obama has done better int eh past debates but i do feel that McCain actaully did better in this one.

First off, out of the hundreds of people there they have about 6 quotes. Man, a staggering 2% of the population is sure something to judge an ENTIRE party on.

Secondly, people are looking to find racism so it's going to be found. If you went to find people in the republican party who would defend Obama's race and religions I bet you could find just as many people, if not more, than the racists. I, for one, always put down anyone that uses his race or stupid terrorist beliefs against him, and I'm Republican and would vote for McCain if I could.

The news is biased against McCain supporters, and extremely biased in favor of Obama.
It's getting to the point where you can't use any news source for information.
