Not Good Enough: The Feeling

What compels someone to feel that they aren't good enough?

Also don't just only look at this from one point of view, try to include 2 or 3 points of view in your replies.

What the hell? If someones fat, calling them fat would be saying "you're fat and you're good at being fat" so they are good enough.

And just because someone is skinny, doesn't make them anorexic. I'm skinny. Sure as hell not anorexic.

being out shot by a girl, this weekend a girl shot a buck and a 300 pound boar 50 yards from a field i was going to hunt

someone calling you names...im sure that cant feel to good

going home from a hunting/fishing trip empty handed.

well, and for me...not beaing able to kick my sisters 'bf' ***...i really wish i could
and the fact that i cant (they are about 150 miles away, and i cant drive)
makes me feel bad.

I think it's more of a constant flow of disapointment which can cause people to feel this way other than a specific phrase being uttered by someone else. I mean, someone can say to me that I'm never going to get an A grade in college/uni but it's not going to make me think I won't. What will, however, is if I constantly get C grades in all my modular exams.

I guess it all stems from building your expectations up. If you have no expectations of yourself or anything else you'll never feel like you aren't good enough. I guess it is a lot to do with other peoples expectations of you as well though.
