I just saw the end of the Shock and Awe mission in CoD4, all I have to say is that was the most powerfull cinimatic in video game history, expecialy when you are injured, and crawling on the ground looking at the waste and dead bodies of your team mates, then, goodbye. I can tell you I am going to watch that again and again...

I admit, it was epic. But I really think it's overrated. Anything you find in a Final Fantasy or Silent Hill will be more epic in every single way.

Yeah, after doing the full game a few times, I just started doing missions..I'd always try to skip this scene.

Never knew you could see your fellow soldiers though, might have to check it out sometime again.

I thought it was a fairly rubbish ending. Came out of absolutely nowhere and offered no real ending or conclusion at all. You kill the guy you've been trying to kill for most of the game with one pistol shot. I'm no big Call of Duty fan but the ending to 4 was just rubbish.

Hes talking about the end of the American section, when the Nuclear bomb goes off. :P Although i do agree the ending was a bit crap..although i prefer it to the typical YAY WE WIN LETS GO HOME WAR IS SO GREAT ending you usually get.

It was a good moment, difference between it and say FF is what happened there could very well happen in the world we live in today, that adds tot he impact of it i think. However i too got bored after the second play through. XD

Apart from Total Plox I doubt any of you have ever played anything other than CoD4. It's not a game to talk about or remember, just a simple shooter with no story.

Have you even played the story in Call of Duty 4? Most people think the story is good, and it does indeed have quite a good story. Before you judge a game, go try it. ;)

Eh? The story in it is mint. It's one of the only games I've played through a second time on campaign because it's awesome. The only other ones are like, KoToR and Fable, RPGs worth playing through again to see what the good side is like, because it's inevitable that you go evil on the first play through XD

Thank you. It's ok though. Gamers are just starting to realize how much story can affect a game, so it's alright that some people think the COD4 story was amazing. Really it was a typical story for a war-based FPS, nothing too special about it. I'm not saying the ending wasn't good, cause it was really epic, there's just better games.

I'm sorry, and I don't be to cause offence, but that's such a typical answer. Fable had almost no story, and nothing really happened in KOTOR until the end, when they pulled the most cliche twist ever. Sorry, while those were really solid games, the stories were crap.

I know I'm sounding like a **** and it sounds like I'm saying my opinion is the only one that matters, but I've been playing videogames for my entire life. I've played some pretty amazing games, and the ones you listed don't top them at all.

I'd like to know what game has a story like COD4s

And Fable's story was perfect, you just missed the point of it. T'was about becoming a Hero, they couldn't put in some deep on-the-rail story like final fantasy because the games biggest charm was choice. If you had a pre-set story layed out for you and it was a simple matter of go from point A to B and kill all the bad guys, You'd lose the choice and that would of made it just another average RPG.

No story in CoD4, it was just 'we have to kill him cause he's the leader' then you get to the end and shoot him, while your team get injured, but I didn't even care what the **** happened to Gary or whoever.

Most western games like these are crap and can't get the feel Japanese games can.

Funny, what was the aim on the latest war the world faced Iraq? Fairly sure that set about trying to stop one man. What about Afghanistan? Pretty sure that was the same deal.

Thing is, call of duty was supposed to be realistic. We can't have blonde spikey haired 15 year olds leaping about with massive swords taking on some cliche evil character.

You'd be surprised when it comes to Western games, the Japanese used to have the edge but lately, the last couple of years they've been falling behind in story, graphics, gameplay to the west. Some Japanese devs have even spoken out and admitted it.

Just look at the latest JRPGs to come out, Lost Odyssey? Average graphics for this day n age, straight forward A-B story, gameplay we saw over 5 years ago. Same goes for Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonyata (admittedly the gameplay had an interest twist but it was still the basic thing) i could keep going on but i imagine I look nerdy enough. :O

You only have to look at the latest wave of western rpg's, Mass Effect, Oblivion, hell fallout 3.

I'm no fan of RPG's, they bore me for the most part once in awhile I'll find one i love but for the most part i don't think the genre evolves enough but the western RPGs are taking steps forward right now.

Only Japanese dev i can think of that are doing anything right would be Capcom and Nintendo.
