Why do you play RuneScape?

I was wondering who/what showed you RuneScape?
How long have you been playing it?
Why or why not do you still play it?

I found RuneScape off of my friends.. and they were braggin about how good they were
I've been playing RuneScape for about 3-4 years now..
I still play RuneScape for Mike12088's clan chat and I like to get on.. it relaxes me

My cousin told me about Runescape. She doesn't play anymore.
I've been playing a good 2 to 3 years now.
I play because of the Clan chat and my friends.

I play it so that nobody would ask me what I play due to the obvious ease of mind I'm always at that World Of Warcraft seems to destroy with the stresses of extreme virtual reality and the slipping grip of what I picture reality to be. Runescape's not real, and it's easier to see that.

Just kidding, but in all seriousness, it's fun.

Another one of these topics

One of my friends showed it to me a while ago, he made it sound interesting. At the time I was around 10, so it looked amazing to me - a game on the internet with skills, socializing, quests, and it's free. This was during the days of classic ... eventually I got bored around level 30, took a long break, and came back in time for the Easter event with the rubber chicken. This was probably after being really bored one day and remembering back to when I played it.

Ever since classic, I've played once a day for about a cummulative 4 years total.

I still play it because .. I want to keep raising skills with my friends on RS. Listening to RSBANDBUpdate while playing RS helps keep me up to date, so I can just log on and still have a clue about what's going on outside of the magic trees. I've been switcthing between WoW and RS a lot though ... sometimes I think I should stop skilling, and make a new character in order to try to re-live the good old days and get the excitement that I used to have. With the new tutorial, and the fact that I'm not 10 anymore, I don't think thats possible.

In the end, it's my friends on Runescape and the prospect of skilling that keeps me playing.

You play WoW more I think now >_<
Seems like whenever I talk to you on MSN you're always busy with WoW

So I don't know whether to talk or to shut up haha

Anyway, I started playing right around the Easter event with the rubber chicken, which was around April 2005.

I play off and on. I don't know, I need breaks from it to get interested in it again. Now I only play if friends are on anyway - it's not so much about the actual game anymore.

How long have you been playing it? I've been playing Runescape since that last week of August 2004.
Why or why not do you still play it? I still play it whenever I come home crunk and there's nothing to do at 1 or 2 am and so on.

My two sons got me into Runescape. They wanted to become members after having played on free accounts for a while.

Been playing since August 2006. I play to switch off from other things and to chat to my kids (only way to talk to them when they lock themselves in their rooms).
