Okay, so I've just finished two full runs through Gnomeregan (it took four hours, blame the PuGs..) to finish off those quests and it's bumped me up to revered with the 4 alliance factions and honored with Exodar. At level 31 I think that's rather good and I'm hoping to continue this streak until exaltedness. Seeing as I've only managed exalted in Darnassus on my Warrior (which is a Nelf) I think it'll get harder towards the end. So I'm looking for any tips which could help me.

Do you WoW nubs also try to get high rep in factions? Although the main ones aren't particularly rewarding, those other ones such as Argent Dawn, Cenarion Circle, Shattered Sun Offensive and Honor Hold give a lot of reputation limited items which come in very handy. :]

Yeah, generally I try and get as many exalted as I can. Argent Dawn exalted came pretty quick pre-TBC doing Naxxramas. Same with Cenarion Circle and AQ. Most of the TBC factions are pretty easy to rep grind in my opinion. You can go from Neutral to Exalted with SSO in just under two weeks of dailies.

Not that bothered about rep with cities though. IF/SW/Darn etc. Doesn't seem much point besides the mount and slight vendor/repair discount.

Edit:

here's an old screenshot of someone who really likes rep grinding:

Note days played & gold, and that was before TBC o.0

A way to get your rep up quickly is do all the starting quests with that faction/race. Although theres not very many for Gnomes :| Stormwind is VERY easy to exalted with (Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge Mountains, and Duskwood anyone? xD)

I'm currently exalted with Stormwind and Ironforge and Im working on geeting my rep up with the Exodar, so far I've done all the quests on the little starting island and that got me about 3000 rep. I also noticed in Alterac Valley when you turn in crystal or armour you get rep, but everyone knows that. But I noticed it changed when you get exalted with a the current one.

Oh, I'm also exalted with Stormpikem which has it benfits, "The Eye of Command" trinket is quite usuful :D I'm trying to get exalted with Honor hold and Shattered sun, because they bnoth have nice benfits aswell.

Well, you can just do low-level quests in starting areas at any level to gain non-racial faction. It's just more convenient to do it starting out rather than going back.

Well it's easy to do when your level 70 with a mount. Seeing as you can one shot everything thats need to be killed and ride your mount to where you need to go.

I see some 30ish Belf locks riding around on Undead mounts just for the look, so it can be done (assuming you have a main).

Just as you get reduced xp when you do quests that are grey you also get reduced reputation for *most* factions. I know you do with the city factions for sure.

Are you sure it wasn't the warlock mount?

I never got exalted with any of the cities, although I'm exalted with almost all of the OL factions, and very close to exalted with Silverwing Sentinals and League of Arathor.
