Heaven

NOTE: DON'T TURN THIS TO ANOTHER RELIGIOUS DEBATE ALTHOUGH WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY FOR MONTHS NOW. ALSO THIS DISCUSSION IS MOSTLY REGARDING 'HEAVEN' SO IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN IT, PRETEND YOU DO FOR NOW, LIKE I AM.

So think about it, heaven is often described in 'holy books' as something peaceful, serene and basically you get whatever you want, eternal youth, bla bla bla, you know it.

Of course, the very same books also reveal the requirements for entry, the prominent one being "Don't sin".

Would that mean, in heaven, you're forbidden to sin at all?

Interesting question.

I would imagine not many people think of that question because most of them seem so preoccupied without getting in to heaven in the first place.

I'm really not sure, but personally I think if heaven existed then surely those goody-goody enough to have got in in the first place would have no desire to sin in such a holy place.

The rest of us would just rot in hell.

Well, heaven is, well, heaven. Nothing bad happens, no tears, no crying. With everything going good, there's no need to sin.

The requirement to get into heaven is more then not to sin, but to repent your sin and believe Christ died for you on the cross.

I believe heaven will be on levels, The better you lived your life the better you will be in Heaven. Billy Graham will get a mansion made of gold and i will get a shack made of corn stalks. I think you can sin in Heaven, its how hell was formed. Lucifer started a war and was cast out of Heaven, so i think its possible to commit sin in heaven.

To get there one must believe that Christ died on the cross and you must ask for forgiveness of your sins. How I depicted Heaven was like this, you are youthful perhaps 20's I don't know that part but it's exactly like life on Earth except without sin, sinning is impossible there. Hell is the opposite it could be a place where all around you is sin you can die and must endure the pain of dying but you come back to life and just keep feeling the pain.

if you get whatever you want i mean some ppl may want to get alot of girls ect.. so i guess you can sin but i guess we all get what would happen afterwards... well at least it worm in hell...

I think it's possible that you can sin enough in heaven and get cast straight down to hell if it's bad enough, since you're still able to choose what you do. Too bad I've rarely heard of anyone being so good in hell that they get sent back to heaven, but if they're there they probably deserved it. This will lead into the whole discussion about whether you can choose to sin, or if God decides you can't and he chooses for you. I don't feel like giving myself a headache though

Point being, I think you can sin in heaven because I think you can still choose to.

As many have said, if one was good enough to get in to heaven, one wouldn't really have a want to sin, but in my personal opinion, although I'm not religious, I think that the "rules" would be more loosely held in heaven.

I believe that sin is irrelevant in Heaven. In the New Testament, the Greek word for "sin" literally means "to miss the mark". When we sin, we miss the mark of becoming an emotionally and spiritually-fulfilled person. In Heaven, we're person-less. We have no body and, thus, we have no reason to sin.

As for entering Heaven, I think that generally being a good person and showing compassion and humanity toward people is what is expected.

I wouldn't know if Heaven was clouds and pearly gates as it's sometimes said, but I'm sure that being there means you're at eternal peace.

Me...I am an Athiest.
I dont believe there is a heaven, nor a hell.
I believe all the bible stuff was made up by a bunch of government dudes back in them times to keep the population of a city in line.
To me..the commandments were created as a way to scare and trick the citizens into believing if the commit a crime they will be bannished to hell.
