My computer says that it is not plugged in and is using battery. It is plugged in, the light on the adapter is on but normally when the adapter is being used it gets hot but its not.

If anyone knows what is going on and how to fix it please tell me.

First, see if it is your computer of teh adaptor.
Is it possible to try and new power cord to plug in your computer? If that works then youknow it is your power cord and adaptor, if it doesnt then it is your computer.

Well it was working, then I looked the toolbar and saw it was on battery (79%). I have no other computer tha uses that adapter, and no other adapter.

My computer is like 3-5years old (I can't remember) is it possible that it could just have stopped working?

at that age, yeah it is.

I am thinking that it is teh battery tbh =\
You best bet is to go to a computer store, buy a charger for your laptop, then if that doesnt work return it, and buy a battery. ( you can get them used for about 75-100 USD)

it can't be that battery because it says that it's not plugged in and IS USING BATTERY POWER.

I will take it to a store when I get back from holiday.
