when i load rs now it says

Runescape was unable to start because the graphics card in your machine indicated it didn't have the features needed to play RuneScape in high detail mode.


so what do i do

Have you tried clicking "Low Detail" after hitting "Play Runescape" on the Main Page?

I got the same thing. Either:

a) You're graphics card just isn't good enough, and you need a new one.

or

b) You need to download the latest drivers for your graphics card (this is what I did to fix it). Find what kind of card you have (for me using Vista it's: Start > Control Panel > System > All Devices) and visit their website to find the drivers you need.

To cut out any of the other replies that would waste time you just need a new graphics card. There's nothing that you can do about that.

This version of the game is rendered in a standalone GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) so if you don't have it, you won't be able to play it.
