Hello and this is a little rant, and I was going to post it here, see what people think then the Runescape forums. Here we go-

Price Checkers-
I am always hanging around in some towns and some people come up and say price check please Marco. I usally ignore them but one day I got reported for it. I was smithing, and a noob came up to me for a price check. I didn't answer (and my chat was off) so I wasn't talking. I got a reported for it. I nearly got a black mark, but I got an appeal. This really bugged me.

I have a soultion for this, that Jagex could easily implment.
Make a right click option that says "price" or "price check"
Not only will this help the noobs and people who get annoyed by them, but when people get a herb drop they don't know the price of, and have to decide what to drop and what to take. They can tell which item is worth more cash.

I think this is a good idea and should be implemted as well. What do you think?

Jagex don't give blackmarks for not answering another player. You're either lying, or mistaken. Either way, it isn't that hard to walk to the GE and find out the price, so no, I don't think this is needed at all.

I agree. If they're too lazy to check out via the Grand Exchange, then they are thereby not too keen on selling it.

At the same time, though, as annoying as it is, it DOES only take 5 seconds to trade them, and it's still a 'big' help to them regardless. I will stay neutral on this case.

I completely ignore them if I'm doing something but if it isn't a distraction I don't mind. It is a lot easier to just trade and have the math done for you if you have a lot of items you want to value.

The real annoying ones are those that feel they need to repeat 'price check' every 5 seconds.

I don't think Jagex should get such feature ingame. There are already enough options on items.

I do find them asking for price checks very annoying. They just got to learn to use the grand exchange database.

I don't find any problem with letting people 'price check' so I voted No.

I know they can check on the GE or the database but usually the ones who ask me have a mix of items. Sometimes it includes their cash so I think they want to know what they are 'worth', or if they have enough to buy a special item.

A few seconds of your time? No big deal.

You can roughly do this with the Items kept on death thing.. I was slaying with someone I had just met, and we kept trading each other to check the prices of the herbs we received as drops, I for one don't mind letting other people check prices using my great skill (lol)

It can be annoying, especially when the other player just denmands this of you. Or they get shirty when you don't do it for them straight away. I got called 'sad' by another player in Edgy bank for not doing a check for him. Truth is I hadn't even noticed him asking as I was busy and simply hopping to Edgy to bank and then was straight back to where I'd come from.

Don't really see any need for any changes to the game other than a notice from Jagex warning players if they report for this type of thing then they will themselves get a black mark.

I hate price checkers because they always take forever to finish checking. I don't mind helping but if its ggoing to take up alot of my time then I could be doing better things.

i don't find price checkers annoying if they're not idiots. 90% of the price checks i get are when i'm out slaying monsters and people want a quick value of all the drops they got that trip. i do it at aviansies a lot to quickly find out how much i've got compared to what i started with. unless you want the cost of a single item, like one d legs, or one dark bow, or one rune full helm if you're newer, its actualy better to trade for a price check so the math is done accurately by a computer, and so you can get your total in about 5 seconds rather than 2 minutes.

methinks you're all just overestimating a "problem" that really isn't there.

also, topic host, i find it hard to believe you could get reported for not saying anything. no pic, no proof.

I like to annoy price checkers by putting up items at the same time as them.

A couple days ago, I saw someone asking for a price check at the GE.

I usually don't mind it too much, but now that the GE database is out, they don't need to do it any more.

For all of you that said no, the people I am talking about are not usally around the Grand Exchange. The people that REALLY annoy me are the ones that come up to me in places away from the Grand Exchange. That is where I think this is needed.

Its only annoying if its for one things or they are just trying to show off, i once got some noob says "price check" and putting in coins.... really annoying. If its when your far away form the grand exchange and killing monsters its ok.. because checking teh database for 20 odd items and adding them up could take a while
