The pain would not lat nearly as long as you seem to think, because without neveres, there is no pain
Being chopped up bit by bit would hurt a lot more because of the constant pain that would be created, the pain would not end until you died, whereas burning the pain would end before you die, probably.
Also a torture method would be getting a high-power laser, and slowly cutting away at the person's body, not the most painful, but the person gets to see their body being slowly cut up, and the wounds would cauterize fast enough for minimum blood
Do you have any idea how extensive the nervous system in the human body is?
That is a
rough approximation of the main nerves in a human, not counting the billions of sensory and motor neurones springing off from the main nervous system present there.
The nerves would not simply "burn away" as you put it, as they are
everywhere in your body.
