iTunes update: Is Safari better than Firefox?

So here's the deal. I opened iTunes because I heard the new postcast was out and I wanted to update and listen to it.

Anyways iTunes was like, "hey I can be updated. . . wanna update me?". Sure, why not! Then I looked at my downloads and I was downloading the iTunes+Quicktime pack (which is normal) but I was also downloading Safari!!!!!!!!???????

What was this!? Well I read the little description and it said it was the fastest etc etc so I didn't reject it.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Also should I use Safari over Firefox or just uninstall it?

Thanks, I thought about it, but then I read the mini description and I was like, "well it doesn't have to do with chips or an actual computer in the hardware sense. . . so idk".

I have gotten this too. It asks if I want to update and download Safari and I decline it all the time. I don't want to start a browser fight or anything but just stick with firefox, safari is featureless.

In my opinion Safari is better on Leopard. Firefox is better on Windows.

I hate Safari, on both Windows and Mac. Too simple - just not enough features or anything. Its standards support is fantastic - the latest nightly build gets 100/100 on the Acid3 test, but the browser itself just isn't really good enough.

Firefox is better than Safari, imo.

Safari shouldn't have ever been pushed through the Apple Update center. Don't know why they did, and nobody seems to be pushing the issue.

At any rate, stick with Firefox. You can't beat it.

I say if you don't need extension on mac, use Safari (well after they patch it up). Stick with Firefox on Vinders. It's just a much more pleasant experience on the mac I find

In the pwn 2 own contest the mac was hacked into first. What was its weakness? Safari.. Stick with firefox.

So maybe the plan is to get everyone to install Safari and it'll be a window for hackers to climb in from???

Well, the rules of the pwn 2 own contest said that the exploit wouldn't be disclosed until after it was patched. So, unless there is another exploit with safari..

And the other thing is that the safari exploit gave them control of the leopard/mac OS. Just because of this it doesn't mean that the same exploit would work with vista or ubuntu etc.

I use firfox on both windows and mac I like it better then safari its faster for what I do and I use speed dial and a few other plugins I tried to use safari on the mac for a few days but when I have rs open in one tab and bnb in the other when I went back to rs its all messed up and I have to reload rs and that is something I can't have a live with rs in the first tab runewire/bnb in the second and school or what ever else in the third

Not sure if its just my computer but safari seem much slower and got alot more lagg in runescape... eventually u just uninstalled..
