I'm saying other because "Rock", as a genre, is very different to anything you can call a subclass. I'm fairly sure Foo Fighters can be classed as Rock but take a look at The Offspring and Bullet For My Valentine and compare the three, you'll agree each are incredibly different from one another and can't each be called "Rock".

foos = rock
offspring = punk pop rock
bfmv = screamo/metal

but ye i can see where youre comin from, just fairly bad examples
