Just a little survey kind of thing.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?

For me...

I use Opera. It's fast, it's got a decent feature set that I can't live without - speed dial, sidebar, search functions, tabbed browsing, mouse gestures.

I used to use Firefox, and before that IE. I originally switched to Firefox because a site didn't work properly in IE, then found Opera and switched to that - I just preferred Opera.

I have tried Maxthon, Flock, iCab, Shiira, Safari, Camino, Netscape, Mozilla, Epiphany, Konqueror and Lynx (probably more).

Maxthon: Didn't seem the greatest. And it's an IE shell.
Flock: Great browser, but only for social networking junkies.
iCab: Not a full version - licence required. Older, free version just wasn't very good.
Shiira: Pretty good, but with none of the features I would like, such as mouse gestures and so on.
Safari: Overly simplistic.
Camino: Also overly simplistic.
Netscape: Kind of crappy.
Mozilla: A fat ugly bloated memory hog.
Epiphany: Also overly simplistic.
Konqueror: Fairly good, but only available on Linux, and missing some features i'd like.
Lynx: It's not a browser you can use a lot, because it's text-based. Command line.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one? Firefox, I prefer it to any other browser I've previously used.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore? I used Internet Explorer before knowing Firefox or Opera even existed. Recently I've used Opera because Firefox wouldn't work for me.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them? Internet Explorer, slow and unsafe. Firefox, better than Internet Explorer and safer. Opera is pretty similar to Firefox, a lot more features that I don't particularly need. I just prefer Firefox.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
Opera, because it's easy to use, and does what I want it to do.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
Opera and IE. I used IE because it came with the computer, and didn't realise there was any others 'till I came here, and Matthew persuaded me into trying Opera.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
Firefox, Safari, Maxthon, IE, SeaMonkey

FireFox: Found it annoying, and I dunno, just not for me.
Safari: Too simple. No variety.
Maxthon: Bleh.
IE: Too simple, and plain.
SeaMonkey: I tried it 'coz I liked the name. But, no.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
FireFox: It has features and plugins that I like for everyday work.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
IE: It comes with any new windows computer so naturally when I started using computers it was the only browser I knew.
Maxthon: I think I learned about this browser from the tv show Call For Help on tech tv, It was great it had tabbed browsing and it would remember your last session if you wanted it to but I stopped using it because it started opening itself when without me telling it to.
Avant: When I uninstalled Maxthon I was looking for another browser that was very similar but wouldn't have the problems of Maxthon so I tried Avant and it was good but I stopped using both Avant and maxthon because I would actually have them remember around 100+ tabs! It started taking way too long for those browsers to launch.
FireFox: I saw FF on CFH also so I decided to give it a try, at the time FF was either in version 1 or 1.5 so it didn't support remembering the tabs you had open last time so I was able to easily escape being tempted to keep tabs open through browser sessions.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
All the above plus:
Mozilla: I installed it because it was from the makers of FireFox "It has to be good if it came before FF right?" wrong, it was ok but not extremely user friendly thats why I didn't really use it.
Opera: I like Opera and it is a good browser but FF does all I need right now and I don't have the time to get used to the new features that would be available to me through Opera.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
I use firefox. The extensions available for it, skins, security, frequency of updates, and compatibility with sites I use are the main reasons behind my choice.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
I have used internet explorer 6, internet explorer 5 and netscape 7.1. I used IE 5 because it was on the computer at the time and I was young and unaware of what a browser did, much less the fact that alternatives existed. I used IE 6 until one day I discovered what spyware was through an elective at school. Curious, I ran a scan; a part of me died inside after seeing the results. I found the source of the problem to be IE 6 and switched over to firefox. After my IE 6 experience I'll have a lot of trouble being convinced that future versions are better.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
I've tried opera and really liked it but the show-stopper was the fact that it doesn't render some of the websites I use frequently well. I have also used netscape 8 and 9 but found them too sluggish and buggy. The fact that AOL is now calling the shots at netscape also deterred me from it.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
Flock. I use it because it makes me a little less lazy with my social networks. I used to not really visit my pages because I either couldn't remember my password, or I was just  lazy. Anyway, this puts them all in one place for me. I can easily and quickly upload stuff to my Photobucket account and post to my blog while doing other stuff. Essentially, I feel that the features included in the browser are relevant to what I need.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
I started out using Internet Explorer because it was pretty much the only browser anyone used. I discovered Firefox later and used it because it had really excellent ideas. Firefox is revolutionary in its existence. It upped the standards for how browsers should be. I left Firefox (though not actually "left" since Flock is built on the same platform as FF) and chose Flock because Flock felt more comfortable to me.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
I've tried Netscape and it looked absolute crap. I tried Opera and I just disliked the fact that there were features on it that I was never going to use anyway, but were there nonetheless. I tried Lynx.. I can't remember why though, probably for fun. Safari, but nothing about it really impressed me.

What browser do you use at the moment?
-Firefox

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
-I used IE. IE is self explanatory; I didn't know about other browsers when I was 10. I stopped using it when I was 13 and heard about Firefox. I didn't like IE before then because it crashed a lot.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
-Opera and Netscape. Netscape I used during elementary school because our computers didn't have any other browser. I don't recall too much about it, so I can't really say my opinion on it. Opera I tried for a brief period of time to see what it was like. There was nothing wrong with it, but I like simplicity, something Firefox gave me.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
Firefox, I like the ease of adding extensions and it's very fast.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
IE- Well, this was when I wasn't that good with computers
Maxthon- Used this due to customizability, until I found FF.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
Opera 5, 6- Back in the days where you paid for it, Flash failed on it.
Netscape- The epitome of failure.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
Firefox 2, IE6.

I switched from IE to FF a few years back and just stuck to that. I have to use IE6 occasionally because some pages I regularly view are not compatible with FF.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
IE6 - Everyone must have used IE before. Then I heard about FF.
FF1 - I liked the tabbed browsing, bookmarks and add-ons. Switched to FF2 when it came out.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
Safari - Used this during my ICT course. I guess it was ok.
FF3 - I tried a beta of this but stuck to FF2 because I knew FF3 wasn't complete and I was familiar with FF2.
IE7 - My mum's bf updated IE6 to IE7. I hated this so I kept using FF.

What browser do you use at the moment? Why do you use that one?
Opera. I use it for features and speed.

What browsers have you used as a main browser? Why did you choose those when you did, and why do you not use them anymore?
IE, Firefox, Opera. IE was default on my computer and how stupid i was, i did not know about any other browsers. Firefox was great compared to IE when i found it out, but still, when i started using Opera, i could never change back again. Opera is awesome.

What browsers have you tried out? What did you think of them?
IE: It was default. Crap, but default. I didn't know anything else, so i used it.
Firefox: OK browser, great alternative to IE.
Opera: Just plain perfect. Couldn't get much better.
Netscape: This WAS on school computers, until recently it was changed to IE 6. Netscape owned IE at speed and features, but Flash animations on it were just crap.
