Sandbox Temporary Ban

I know there was an argument or joke made about the Sandbox being deleted but today I read Matt Vortex's Blog about RSBandB and how it has changed from when it first began. I have been around for about a year and a half and I have noticed change. When I first got here the Sandbox was used for fun stuff but now its just out of control with meaningless spam. Soon that spam will reach the forums and cause chaos. I believe the sandbox should be temporarily banned for a week and see how the forums act. Some people have left RSBandB due to the Sandbox problems. Please take a look ~no. Tell me what you think about this thought. Should it be done? Why or Why not? Discuss with each other.

What people need to realize is. Forums change. People come and go.

This place has changed a lot over the years. Hardly anyone posting here anymore is from when i joined. Lots of good friends of mine have quit n gone long ago.

It's not the sandbox that causes change it's natural for a forum, it can't stay the same. If you think the forums bad right now, give it time and it'll change, perhaps to better suit your liking.

Personally i view it as a matter of loyalty, You either up and run crying it's ruined in which case, personally i don't believe the people that do that cared to much anyway - or you stick it out and improve it.

Disagree with the sandbox being closed, we shouldn't force people into areas or out of them. There free to decide for themselves.

I never realized it's purpose was not for meaningless spam. The description seems to have not realized this yet either. XD
People have not left RSBANDB because of the Sandbox "problems"... Not that many people have even left. If you come to RSBANDB just for the Sandbox, then you should leave.
I don't think it was ever meant to be more than a place to test your signature, be a forum without anti-spam rules, etc. And I believe it's purpose wasn't to have people browsing it.

You don't need a whole forum to test signatures – A pinned thread will do just as good. As for the calm and controlled spam, I don't think it's really necessary or needed on a forum site.

People come and go for other reasons than the sandbox filling up with useless spam and change also comes from the people's ideas and thoughts and not only from the sandbox or other forums.

I'd like to see people post their decent topics in places other than the sandbox, because I do see a lot of topics in there which could have turned into a good discussion if the "phail" comments weren't allowed. (for example).

As for removing it? It's a little harsh.. I don't see what good it'd do. lol.

It's been said before but it won't make people post elsewhere. They post in the Sandbox for a reason and if there was no Sandbox, they wouldn't post it at all.

Well I doubt getting rid of the sandbox would help anything or anyone

I think that would just cause more spam in other parts of the forum

I can say with 100% absolute certainty the sandbox won't be deleted/locked. Quite clearly it looks since the posting of this topic, no one else except our original poster voted yes to remove it.

Sandbox is just too attractive to post. Why? becuse you like fast reactions, where can this be acchieved? In an active forum. Sandbox is just growing and growing. Just like a fission reaction...
