Hello! This is more like a helpful tip then I guide, but I figure it should go here anyway.

I normally have no lag at all regardless of what world I am in. My friend a long time ago taught me a nice little trick, thought I should share it with you all.

Risk: None, if you follow what I say exactly.

Here we go..

Step 1: Get the Windows client.
On the Runescape main page, there is a side bar to your left. Look for 'Downloads'. Click on it, and the Windows Cliet should be near the top. Just hit download now, and it is most easy if you save it to desktop.

Step 2: Open the Windows Client.
Easy enough, if you saved it to your desktop, just double click it, or right-click 'Open'.

Step 3: Open Windows Task Manager.
Either hold down Control+Alt+Delete, or right click on an empty space on the bar at the bottem, and select 'Task Manager'.

Step 4: Set the Runescape to Higher Priority.
Go to the 'Proccesses' tab on Task Manager. Look for Runescape.exe. Right-click it, and go to priority. Set it to either 'Above Normal' or 'High'.

A few Notes/Tips ~Please Read These~
-Never set to 'Realtime', it disallows any other programs to open, or makes them extremely laggy.
-You have to do this every time you open Runescape.
-I reccomend having it on 'Above Normal', about the same as High, but allows MSN and maybe a Screenshot program like Paint open.
-I reccomend only having Runescape open, not others, but you can if you want.

Enjoy the minimal lag!
~Andy

*Disclaimer* I am not resposible if you incorrectly followed the guide and harmed you computer.

Something else that can help reduce lag experienced by slower computers (not internet related lag) is to turn off explorer.exe. This is done by going into the task manager, and turning off explorer.exe.

*BE WARNED* If you do this, keep the window that you want to use on top. For example, if you are using the downloadable program off of RuneScape's website, make sure you have that open to the top. Once you have this window to the top, turn off explorer.exe.

This isn't for those who like to do several things at once, but it can reduce the lag for people who only are on one program at once.

When you are done playing, or if you don't think this helps, open task manager once again. Go to File>New Task (Run) and type in explorer.exe.

As an alternative to keeping the window you want on the top, then turning off explorer.exe, you can try to turn off windows, then run the program you would like. I don't remember if this will open the program on top or not, but it is always an option to consider.

Thank you, I will test this later. :)
