So, now with the new "Grimy Herbs", you cannot buy mass amounts of Unidentified Herbs for 1-2k each. Now, every Grimy herb has a set price (which the Rs population has declared). Wasn't the efficient way to train Herblore to buy Unid Herbs, use the ones you want, then sell the left overs for the same price?

Is there still a way to train Herblore efficiently?

It would be nice if some high level Herbalists (I know there's some around here) could offer up their oppinions.

Thanks guys
.

It affects me both negatively and positively.
-

I'll be unable to get cheap high level herbs from those selling unids now, meaning I'll have to fork out a lot more if I were to buy some. Also, I'm very unlikely to come across a bunch of "uncleaned" ranarrs that people have left on the floor at abberant spectres.

On the other hand, I'll know when someone's selling me 250 guams in a stack of 5 herbs "above ranarr", and trading unids for id's will be much easier.
-

I still see myself calling them unids in a months time XD

Its kind of an 'oh, ok' kind of update for me since I'm not buying or selling unids. This only really impacts unid merchanting.

Grimy and Clean herbs are the new identified and un-indentified herbs. They're called "Grimy Guam Leaf" etc, and you have to clean them before you can use them.

It's basically just like before, only you know what herbs they are before you "identify" them. :/

Quote:
The Herbalist also felt 'identifying' herbs was not the difficult part of Herblore - it's cleaning! So, your unidentified herbs have been replaced with 'grimy' herbs. You will now see grimy ranarrs, grimy marrentills and other mucky herbs. These require cleaning and a certain Herblore level to do so; the same Herblore level that was required to originally identify them. With no more identifying to be done, you will know exactly what herbs you are receiving from the very start.

Basically, we have no more Unidentifies Herbs, meaning that we can't sell/buy them for 1k each in 11 stacks. We now pay full price for each herb.

it depends on what point of view:

1. it sucks for people who buy herblore, because they have to pay full price now

but

2. it's a cool update for herb farmers like me who get a lil bit more exp now because you farm Grimy now instead of Cleaned

I don't buy herbs, herb seeds, or anything related to the skill...I grow everything myself from monster drop, or get the actual drop from a monster. I see how merchanters and people trying to play the Herblore game will be a bit ticked, but then again you won't be able to be scammed.

If nothing else, this will affect the trainers who kill chaos druids in the wilderness

Ah no that's a great idea, not being able to know what herbs they where was really annoying to me.

I only bought IDed herbs anyway... To me, this means no more herb scamming. :)

I wonder how this would affect the potion price. You used to be able to buy ranarrs for 1k each. Now we've to pay 8k for them. I wonder if we see that back into the potion prices.

If the potions will go up a lot of other items will go up as well. Higher barrow prices and such. I guess we've to wait to see what will happen.

Well its totally ruined my plans for 99 herblore, i was working on getting 80m to spend on unids and seconds, then was going to sell the pots and repeat twice.

That probably would have got me 99 herblore but now theres no chance of that happening, i can understand them doing it to stop scamming but its ruined herblore for people who train by buying unids.

I hadn't considered that when farming herbs they are now harvested grimey. More exp when cleaning them is a new positive. Suweet.

It doesn't really affect me, herblore sucks imo. But I know it will cut down on scams.
