I don't see that as the cause of narcissism. That's like blaming the invention of mirrors for vanity. As quality of life increases, people are more likely to look inward and rely less on hard work and working with others.

I heard Mr. Rogers was a marine sniper during Vietnam war, dunno if it true or not. I think Mr. Rogers show did more good than harm, it was a very good show back in the day.
