Anti-Macro Solution
This is a possible solution to the macro crisis, although, this idea is only based on macros woodcutting. What is a macro? A user in RuneScape is considered a macro when that user uses a program which will execute a series of commands in series (clicks), saving the user having to repeat clicking or data input. When a macro user is woodcutting the macro user uses a sequence of clicks to chop down the trees. Now what if we could break that sequence of clicks?
This is where my idea comes in to affect. When a macro user or any RuneScape user clicks a tree to chop it down an ‘Options’ screen will appear in the chat box window giving to options to chop down the tree and to cancel the options screen. Now you’re probably thinking
So what? The macro user can just set the sequence of clicks to click the Chop down Tree option every time. That’s not how it works. Every time you click the tree and the options screen appears in the chat box window, the Chop down Tree and Cancel options will be placed in different random places, which will make incredibly difficult for a macro user to click the Chop down Tree option. If the macro user sets his sequence of clicks to click a million times in different places on the chat box window, they may possibly click the Cancel option bringing them them back to the starting of the process (click the tree to open the option screen → choose your option).
Here is a basic example of the idea and Options screen. The two options will randomly appear in different places every time opened.
You may also be thinking
Will you have to go through this Options screen every time one log is cut for a user?. No, once you click the Chop down Tree option you will continuality chop down the tree until there is no more to chop, which will then make you have to click the tree again and go through the options again. For macros it’s not preventable every time, but it will make it much more difficult to cut trees. Also to conclude, when you right click on a tree it will already give the option (Chop Tree) to chop the tree. Well, sorry to say but clicking that will also bring you to the Options screen in the chat box window.
