This script was designed for PhpBB2 and has some issues with the new versions of the forums. A new version is in the works.

This is not a story. I have thrown together a little script (read: ripped and modified) to make the RSBandB post box bigger, and the topic review box longer, which I think is better for writing longer passages and looking back at a topic.

There are two versions, one for 1024x768 monitors, and one for monitors that are wider. It works in both Firefox Greasemonkey and Opera UserJS, and probably Safari Creammonkey, too, but I have no way of really telling.

To install in Opera (I am assuming you are running Windows XP for this guide.)

Navigate to C:/Documents and Settings/Your username/Application Data/Opera/Opera/profile and make a folder called 'javascripts'.

Then, in Opera, go Tools -> preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> Javascript Options -> and change the value of the user javascripts directory to C:/Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/Opera/Opera/profile/javascripts

Download this file (for greater than 1024 wide) or this file (for 1024 wide) (right click, save target as), and put it in C:/Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/Opera/Opera/profile/javascripts

Then reload a page with a post box in (either privmsg.php or posting.php) and your post box will be wider, and topic review taller :)

To install in Firefox

First you'll need the greasemonkey extension. Download and install it from here: http://www.greasespot.net , then reboot Firefox.

Navigate to here (if you have a monitor greater than 1024 pixels wide) or here (if you have a 1024 pixels wide monitor). Greasemonkey should recognise it as a script and ask to install it. Select to install it.

Then reload the page to see the difference :)

I've been using this script for the last couple of months, and I think it really helps when writing longer posts. When I am forced to use the smaller post box, it just seems wierd.

I hope you like it :)

Very useful, thank-you :D

Even though I do tend to write in Word, this might come in useful. :P

Yes it is.

Tools -> Folder Options -> View Tab -> In the advanced section, select 'show hidden files and folders'

This script was designed for PhpBB2 and has some issues with the new versions of the forums.

I'm currently working on a new version for the PHPBB3, but the old version should be removed for now.

(Dear mods: sorry about posting in a dead topic)

The only thing that needs changing is just the dimensions of the post box, because it's still "posting.php"
