Is that against the rules? There was someone in Seers talking all about the bible, he even said that other gods we're inferior. I told him to stop or i'd report him. He said it's not in the "Report Abuse" section, and he was actually right. I don't think it would be classified under "Offensive Language" or anywhere else. Is it even against the rules?

Its not said in the rules that its against them, so technically you can't report for it.

Why would you want to report someone for saying his peace anyways?
Even if your an atheist or believe in something else no point in trying to get him in trouble when its not against the rules, just go somewhere else.

I don't want to turn this into a religious topic, I can see it going there. The reason I think it's against the rules is some people don't believe the same things as others, and some people take it very offensively.

I agree, with all the liberals today, there is no sense in trying to preach on a game. If you want to preach that badly, find a homeless shelter or prison. They are the ones who need your prayer, not people who are trying to relax. I myself am an Italian liberal, that's how I was raised and how I'll remain. Somebody else might think differently and I'll respect that. The key is respect and to handle it gently. Not going off saying "If you dont stfu about ur stupid imaginary god, I'll report u!?!" when infact you cant....yet....

I don't want it to turn into a religous topic either, since they usually end as flames.

I know everybody believes something different, everyone will never believe the same thing.

Those that are offended by it can report it under offensive language.

Are you offended by it? If not then you shouldn't report the person.

It is said by jagex that speaking about other gods than runescape ones is against rules. However, I don't know which rule it is against.

So ya they made this thing in Runescape called the ignore button...

If Runescape starts banning for religious reasons it opens up a can of worm that they would never get the lid back on...trust me...just think of it...would this include talks between friends where one friend doesn't like what the other says and considers it religious...

Jagex has enough problems as it is other than dealing with religious beliefs...just put them on your ignore list...and you won't hear them ever again.

I remember when someone tried to report me one time for talking about my fellowship of Zamorak. He hated Zamorakians.

It should be, because it harrasses the other people who know that it's just a game.

I believe harrassment is a category of offensive language.

I love how everyone always says that Jagex is too restrictive and won't let them swear and this and that...so when it comes to talking about a subject they don't agree with they all want Jagex to be more restrictive. What is Jagex suppose to do fine every topic that could be construed as harassment and ban/mute that person. Now, I have seen a lot of people come to this site and complain about getting muted for banned for a lot less than preaching. In my view it is better if Jagex lightens up the mute/banning for swearing/offensive language and what not...because that can be remedied by that little button I mentioned before. Instead I wish they would focus on the people that really destroy the game...macroers, lures, scammers, hackers...the list goes on...and I would rather their efforts went to that instead of focusing on some weird kid preaching in the middle of Seers with a lvl 3 account...I don't know maybe that is just me, but I really don't want to feel like everything I say is being watched by Jagex.

Well I didn't mean by enforcing such cases so severely to the point of issuing perm mutes/bans for little things.

More of like, stalking someone and make the person so annoyed.

...And of course, for the Ignore function to work, we need Jagex to expand it more.

[rant] Does it really matter. Just because you have a problem with what someone is saying doesn't mean you have to report them. If you don't feel like listening to that, get a life. It happens.[/rant]

Eh, some pest decided to annoy me, so I get a life instead of him?

No offence, but shape up your mind.
