I laughed when Margaret Beckett said on the British news last night about it "We won't ever need to use them, and we won't ever need to threaten to use them". Pretty moronic thing for a government minister to say, eh.

I honestly can't see that having them alone will be a deterrent. If Ahmadinejad or any other extremist leader want to attack the UK, they probably will regardless of if we have nukes or not, and I think it would take a very big attack on Britain to justify a Nuclear strike in response, I also doubt many British governments would have the balls to order it.

I don't understand why other countries except the US and England are not allowed nuclear technology, I know North Korea is communist but what about the rest?

It's not just the USA and England but we are pretty much the ones that are dictating who can and who can't have them.

Why do we do it? Cause we can, probably. Whos going to stop us?

I mean we're right to do it in some cases a place like Iran shouldn't be allowed nuclear power or weapons, they simply cannot be trusted with it a stable country like America or England is fine but places like Iraq/Iran and such..yeah..think of it like the adult taking away a box of matches from a kid.

In my bizzar opinion, I think nucs are decreasing warfare. I think that most countries don't want to get in a war where nucs are invlolved. I don't think anyone wants to blow the world up 8-10 times over. I could be very wrong though.. so don't take my words for granted.

Lol, I can't believe how many people think we should just rely on the US for protection, especially when half the problems in the world are caused by the US.

Nukes or no nukes, it's not going to affect what happens to our country - but with them we can retaliate.

England was probably right about getting nukes. The US is probably too caught up in the war in Iraq that they might as well scoff at a suggestion of helping England.
