Do we need nucs?

Ok, England are umming and arring about wether we need to replace our nuclear weapons. But do we really need to when he have much more important things to buy? The program would cost 20billion, thats enough to build and fund 33 new state of the art hospitals.. my question is this, Since im english..And english history etc.. Do we (england) need to even have nuclear wepons, or is our reputation and popularity good enough to keep us safe?

And we can't trust the USA to do a thing for us, they never have done anything for us it's always been the other way around, if they give us those missiles to defend our borders like we've been asking, that'll be the first thing they've done for us in this so called "alliance".

We need nukes for now, until other country's stop arming themselves with it then we should keep them.

Well, I don't think Nucs will help much, here, but Russian Spec Ops will kick your asses without Nucs.....Nucs will only cause havoc and catastrophe,

I don't think most countries have nukes with the intention of using them, it is like a bluff. "America has a nuke, we will blow you up if you try to attack us" kind of thing, not "Let's blow all our enemies up". If a country was nuked it would send the world into a total nuclear wasteland, as all that country's allies would whip out the nukes and nuke the attacking country. So they're kind of there as a precaution, kind of like 2 guys with guns. If Guy Number 1 tries to shoot Guy Number 2, he will shoot back, and all Number 2's friends will run in and shoot Number 1. The nukes kind of keep everyone at bay, prevent any disaster from happening.

Anyway, like I was saying, I think you guys should get nukes, just as that precaution.

As said in the movie Lord of War, nuclear weapons aren't the weapons of mass destruction but the bullets inside a Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947 or commonly know as the AK-47. Nuclear weapons sit away and don't do much. The bullets from AK-47 have claimed more lives then the nuclear weapons theat destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6-9 in 1945. So I don't see the need for nuclear weapons.

Iran just wants to use nuclear energy not for war :/

I don't understand why other countries except the US and England are not allowed nuclear technology, I know North Korea is communist but what about the rest?
