Anyone else think they should allow more then 2000 people in a server? Ive been trying to get into world 2 for like 1 1/2 hours and its been full. Its just so annoying!

No I don't. I think there should be a better way for trading... Player owned shops or something. I have another idea, but its in my head and I don't know how to explain it.

Well considering how massive the world of RuneScape is, I think they should increase the player limit higher. How high? I cannot answer that, but it should be raised.

im sorry xOhYax, but increasing the max player limit wont help that... the only times world 2 is not at 2000 players is during a fluke. even with the swiftswitch world watcher and stufff like that it takes forever. the reason? world 2 always has the max population, plus like 100 people waiting at the load screen trying to get in. increasing the max population will not help with making world 2 more accessible. all it will accomplish is 500 more people selling things in falador sq or seers village bank. you will still have the 100 people trying to get on from the load screen, because there are always a huge population of players just trying to get to the load screen. the only way that might make it more accessible is if jagex made official designations of 3 or 4 worlds that would be the official "market worlds." you can't solve the problem by letting more people in, you solve the problem by dispersing the people

a good comparison, say city a has a big casino, and lots of people want to go there to gamble. if too many people go there, there aren't' enough slot machines, craps tables, etc., to sustain everyone. so the casino, with all its riches, opens a second branch 50 miles away in another town. all of the sudden, it becomes equally effective to go to either town a or town b to gamble. same goes for rs. if you introduce 2 or 3 more market worlds, the population that goes on world 2 will be dispersed, and they will be more like worlds 6 9 and 22, and clear up every 2 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

Servers do have their limits and I can't see it being expanded any time in the short term.

It would be easily resolved if people who needed to specifically buy or sell items that they should just go to the forums. If a Forum culture for trading developed and the Marketplace forums were improved more to match the growing demand as well as having other features it would greatly reduce the strain on world 2. Free players however, cannot use the forums, with good reason too.

Producing that as such would not work since there is still a demand for Minigames, Dueling and PKing. As well as people who are too lazy to try and sell on the forums because it requires constant maintenance to keep threads alive.

I think a possibility would be to have a board with;

ItemPricePlayerContact Details


You would have to press a refresh button on it every 10 mintues to keep what you are trying to sell on the board, this is so people don't forget to take it down. The good thing about this is that you wouldn't get player scams since there would only be set items that you can put up.

waffles, i love you, but this is exactly what jessica was talking about. there may be no risks for you or others but some people do manage to get into risky situations with swift and other world switchers. so just let it be.

anyway, yeah, servers are fine how they are

Another thing I would also like to point out is that if you had a max of around 5000 then basic resources would be really hard to get yourself. Since so many other people would be trying to mine/fish/cut the same thing as you (theoretically).
