What are your views on downloading music?

Do you think it should be legal or illegal?

I don't see a problem, because musicians are bloody rich enough.

I think the same thing, Muscian are very rich. And if there would be no way to download music, What will happen to the iPod compagny ? I know you can buy them by the iTune Store but there is not allway all the song of the signer/band.

It should be illegal unless you pay for it because getting it for free is basically the same thing as stealing and stealing is illegal. Even though musicians are rich they still put a whole lot of hard work, a lot of time, and even a lot of their own money to make the music that your just going to steal right away from them.

It's not stealing. Stealing means someone else loses something.

It's sharing.

So your saying you have never stolen something.
I say let me download it because they play it on the radio.
Last I checked the radio was free.

it should stay illegal because even though musicians are rich, they'd stop making money when everyone stops buying their cd's. they'd stop making a lot of money, although some people are good enough fans to buy their cd's. but still, music stores would go bankrupt and musicians wouldn't make as much money.

Oh Dear, in 100 years all the musicians will only be able to afford a 20 million dollar house. Poor them.

Perfectly fine, you're only ripping off the record company, the artist has already been payed.

Lets face facts, it does not cost £10-15 to develope a CD.

Well, what about the not so famous musicians. Theres bands like Saosin and I Am the Avalanche who are famous but don't have as much money as Slipknot and System of a Down. And don't forget about music stores! :!: They'll go bankrupt! :!: All the bands, including the richest ones would lose lots of money if downloading music was made legal.

Well, it is legal here in Canada, but that's besides the point.

What about dead musicians? Why do they need money?

then they should be greatful that people are downloading their music and therefore know that there are fans out there and depending where most of them download from they can hold concerts there.

if you are a very poor musician and you cannot afford to make and sell tons of cds and whatnot it's better so people can sample your songs

So how is downloading any different than borrowing people's CDs and burning them?

People do the latter and claim that's ok.
