This is what I read on the homepage this morning.

"We have updated Rule 7 and Rule 9 to clarify some long standing gray areas, and to cover some recent threats. Please take the time to re-read both rules and make sure you fully understand them.

The reason for this update is both to clarify some very frequently asked questions, and also to help address recent threats which have been harming our players. In particular we have extended rule 7 to make it clear that it DOES now include third party RuneScape clients/world switchers.

We have done this for two main reasons: a) The sheer number of users losing their account/password to programs which pretend to be one thing but actually steal their password; b) Problems with some of these programs including extremely unsafe chat channels where large amounts of scamming go on, and users encourage each other to try to break the rules.

When RuneScape fansites are distributing programs which are then used to discuss breaking the rules or result in their own users being scammed, it's clear that our rules need revision! We don't want to be unnecessarily restrictive, but we obviously also have to balance that with protecting our users. We've thought long and hard about this, and hence this update."

I think it's bogus. If players want to use them, they can use them at there own risk. Don't make it bannable now. I've been a Swift Switch user for a year now and I've encountered no problems what-so-ever. What's your opinion on it.

-Mods: If it's against the rules to discuss this topic then don't feel obligated to lock the thread-

WTH! I love using SS!

I think I am still going to be using it. If i get a warning I will stop, but I mean so many people are going o be using it that they will have to ban a mass amount of people, I hope this rule will go away...

Jagex mentioned it steals many peoples accounts and passwords. I think it was only 1 in 87,000 downloads that someone complained they got a keylogger or something similar, with swiftswitch. If Jagex doesn't like the chat channel, just ask the owner of SwiftSwitch to remove it. And if the owner refuses to remove it then Jagex can resume there rule update.

But how can they even know if you are using it ??? If you dont talk about it in the game.

Also SS is nessisary for Clan's. If Jagex would have a chat for just clans in teh interface, I think this rule would go down better.

It is silly = P
About stealing...... yeah It is not SS...
