Simple suggestion regarding Chat

Since I know you have the capability to tell if there are users in the chat room, based on the list at the very bottom of the forum index, why not have the chat icon flash when users are in the chat room? Maybe just a simple way to attract more people to the chat, because people don't check the index page every five minutes to see if anybody's on, and they don't want to load the chat applet unless they know somebody's in there.

Just my 17 cents.

That'd annoy the hell out of me if i'm honest, the reports and pm button does it and it bugs me so much i have to answer it. :oops:

So yeah, it probably would attract more people out of annoyance over anything else. XD

Maybe if the text in the button was a different colour, rather than is flash, it would do less annoying, and more attracting?

Sometimes non-stop annoyance is the only way to force people to obey you.

That's a great idea. We need an effective way to get the Chat lively again. Otherwise, it's deader than a tropical squirrel in a snowstorm. :O

I don't go into the chat because it causes slight lag for me... and I think I'll feel... akward or something.

So I wouldn't want it flashing. If it was a different colour or bright I wouldn't mind it.

If someone can update the chat button with a different text color or something, I'll code it up so that it shows that button when there are people in the chat.

Sorry I don't have the patience right now to edit the image, and I can't find the psd anywhere. If you need to know, the font used on it is called bazooka.
